That's the right to Peacefully assemble. Included in that is protesting where the Law states a permit is required, which is legal under most circumstances, and was not legal in many areas during G20. You may be interested to know- during G20 most protesters had permits, and were not "harassed" at all, because it was legal and they were respectful. Thats not good enough for some people who simply want to cause trouble and mayhem, like in Oakland.

That's the right to Peacefully assemble. Included in that is protesting where the Law states a permit is required, which is legal under most circumstances, and was not legal in many areas during G20. You may be interested to know- during G20 most protesters had permits, and were not "harassed" at all, because it was legal and they were respectful. Thats not good enough for some people who simply want to cause trouble and mayhem, like in Oakland.

I sent an email to the Pittsburgh Police criticizing their actions on this night. I didn't make any threats, but I believe I reserve the right to criticize such actions. Should I be worried about retaliation from them? And if so, is that right? Should I have to be worried for speaking out on behalf of the way most people feel about this? Show these videos to as many people as possible and see if their reaction is positive or negative toward the actions of the police.

Pitt has a sworn police force, one of the largest police departments in Allegheny County, but the campus is in the City and Pgh Police also have jurisdiction. Pitt Police are large as college depts go, but not big enough to handle all of this alone.

I was there. Many of them are NOT innocent. Many were throwing shit, yelling Fuck You, and throwing garbage on an ambulance crew below Forbes Hall. Do you expect the cops to announce to the crowd "Anyone involved in the violence come forth- the rest can stay or go home!" They were told to leave- some did, most didnt. the fact is, no one can deny that college students broke windows and threw rocks at the police, and trash cans at ambulances during this time. they didn't show it in this vid, but those of you that were there knew it happened. the evidence is still there on 5th or forbes. the police were keeping everyone else safe, and trying to limit the damage that the protesters were causing. no one is saying that protesters don't have a right to assemble, but once they break stuff, they are CRIMINALS.

you're right, police are assholes for arresting rock lobbing, dumpster throwing, window breaking, atm smashing, looting college students.
i bet you think they're assholes when they pull you over for driving 30 over the speed limit too.
