I grew up with this poem, it was one of my childhood favourites - my elocution teacher knew Walter de la Mere very well and she would make all of his poems such magic for us. This one allows your imagination to run wild. You read it the way I always wanted to hear it - beautiful, as are all your readings. Thank you so much.

Lovely strange poem - thank you. This is one I read many years ago at school and have always wondered exactly what it was meant to be about. It's fascinating anyway and my second favourite poem (after Wilfrid Wilson Gibson's 'Flannan Isle' which deals with a real-life mystery).
