I cried until I had no more tears. I too cringed and avoided mirrors for most of my 42 years, due to being born with facial deformities. It took me a long time to love myself. I strengthen myself through education and went into nursing,to keep the attention away from myself. It was hard to admit to myself that I was holding on to my deformities based on my distorted inner mirror. Maria your strength is in your Poetry! Please keep writing it is such a blessing for all of us Hispanic women.
