All the human rights groups estimate the Palestinian casualties conservatively at 5 to 1 Israeli,most of whom are soldiers enforcing the illegal, genocidal occupation.

I respect your views, however, they are the same kind of views one has when defending one's family. It makes it impossible to consider the concerns of the opposing party.
Jews are not evil, nor is Israel. They are a small legally created state surrounded by hostile states that have pledged Israel's destruction. Israel is a small nation fighting to survive, to keep their children alive against huge odds.

Israel has peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan. The Arabs, including Hezbollah and Hamas have offered peace in exchange for withdrawal to pre 67 borders.
Palestinians are also fighting against all the odds to survive as a nation. Zionism was always pledged to ethnically cleanse Palestine

Helen, I respect your opinion, however, things you state as fact are incorrect. No offer of peace has ever been made to Israel in exchange for withdraw to pre-67 borders. Hammas and Hezbollah advocate the destruction of Israel as a Jewish state & in fact such destruction is stated in the charters of both organizations. Also, Wahhabism, (I suggest you research it) the most radical & fastest growing form of Islam advocates destruction of all religions other than Islam. The issue is more than land.

Helen, another quick point, I made it in another post here, but may be of interest to you. Worldwide there are only 13.5 million Jews. One Jewish nation. 1.9 billion Muslims. 54 Islamic nations. if Arabs loose a war, they go home, if Israel looses they all die. Please ask yourself why none of the neighboring Arab states have allowed the Palestinians to settle. No one remembers the 10 of 1,000s Jews kicked out of Egypt, Jordan etc in 1948.

Helen, Islamic states havn't offered Palestinian (Pals) refugees a home as it is to their advantage to keep a hostile population poised against Israel. Islam is hostile to Jews & consider the presence of a Jewish state in the mid east as a sign of weakness & defeat of Islam. Pals left Israel in '48 at the request of Arab Govt's telling them they could return after the defeat of the Jews. But surprise, they lost. Some Pals returned & are Israeli citizens & have more rights than Arab neighbors.

Geez, even zionist scholars like Benny Morris have researched Plan Dalet after the archives were opened in Israel in the late 80's exposing the plan for the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. They were driven out after rapes, torture, massacres and the destruction of hundreds of villages. If palestinians have so many rights, how come Israel will not allow the U.N. Special Rapporteur for Human Rights into Israel or the Occupied Territories.
Palestinians believe they have a right to remain in their own country and international law affirms that right.
Israel is the most militarised country in the M.E. with hundreds of nuclear warheads. No other M.E. country is nuclear armed.
Israel is under no threat unless it attacks Iran.
Aid to the Pals - Israel has appropriated it.

The arabs compose 20% of the Israeli population, they have the right to vote, to hold political office, to worship as they wish and enjoy all the rights of their fellow Jewish citizens. Arabs living in Islamic states do not have near the rights as Arabs in Israel. Can you name one Islamic state where Jews are allowed such rights as afforded Muslim Arabs in Israel?

Palestinians are grossly discriminated against in Israel. In the OP's they have no rights at all.
Look up the findings of the International Court of Justice on the Occupation and the Apartheid Wall.
The illegality of the occupation is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of fact.

Israel does not have a constitution nor a bill of rights guaranteeing equal rights for all. Noone can run for election if they argue for a secular, democratic state. Israel guarantees full rights only for Jews. It provides special privileges and rights to any Jew wanting live there. Non-Jews are restricted in how much land they can own. Israel sanctions torture.
7 million Palestinians livingn in the diaspora have the right under international law to return to their lanad - Israel blocks this.

Palestinians can't even build a new home on the land they own in the West Bank. Israel won't allow permits. Israel bulldozes their homes after they have been built.
But look up Gush Shalom, Yesh Gvul, B'tselem, Rabbis for a Just Peace, Not in our Name - a big list of Israelis who oppose the occupation and the ongoing destruction of Palestinian society by the military theocracy of Israel

The international consensus as expressed inthe U.N. every year is for a 2 state solution. Israel, the U.S. and a few tiny countries oppose the 2state solution.

Helen, the international consensus at the UN every year is meaningless. There is one Jewish state; Israel with 6 some odd million people. There are 54 Islamic states, many with fantastic natural resources (oil). Islamic States make up nearly 30% of UN membership, & much of the other member nations have a long history of either anti-semitism & anti-democracy. The UN is a joke with nations like Saudi Arabia, Guatamala sitting on the human rights commission.

Jews are not evil but Zionism is. As for the legality of Israel.Have a look at the map of the partition plan and see how much the Jewish minority was granted and then have a look at Israel now. There is a good map of the West Bank on the site - Foundation for a Middle East Peace. Palestinians have about 50% left divided up into ghettoes
Have a look at Amnesty or B'tselem for the nubmers of Palestinian children killed this year for instance. The numbers shot in the head are quite staggering!

Who funds Israel? The Israeli economy. The US provides foreign aid to Israel as well as an almost equal amount to the Palestinians. Resolution 242, yes, I've read it and it no way implies that there is an illegal occupation.
I admit, I haven't checked out "B'tselem" or "Peace Now" or "Gush Shalom" but I will.
I like to see both sides of an issue. Do you?

Israel, as Haaretz notes has appropriated Palestinian funds and is besieging Gaza. It has also described the seizing of food, medicines, the closing of schools, health centres, orphanages in the West Bank.
Haaretz also describes the plight of Holocaust survivors dying in poverty.
The UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights is barred from Israel and the Occupied Territories. Lots to hide.

3. 87 counties will give 7.4 billion to Palestinian Authority 2007 - 2010.
4. Figures published by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development for 2005 show that Palestinians received $304 per person in foreign aid, 2nd only to the Republic of Congo.
