A lot of people chatting about the tempo, and I'd like to say two things. Firstly, the melody's fairly simple and moves mostly in steps,and the rate of harmonic progression is slow, so this speed does not strain the music. Secondly, the lyrics talk about walking and I think a slightly brisk walking speed fits that nicely.
At any rate, it may not be the traditional tempo, but it sounds fantastic, so there.
