I used to have this laptop (still do actually) and it over heated and fried the cpu, dell told us to fuck off and a pc repair shop said it would cost €700 to fix?! Im pretty sure u could have replaced the cd drive and HDD and that would have worked perfectly! Or you could have sold it as faulty and got a few hundred! Good video though but im glad it was your loss not mine :)
I think the key thing here is when they said: "Yes sir, as long as it is an accident"
Complete Care accident warranty is for accidents. I'm glad that he got a new one though. They should have sent him one just for sending a non-working laptop, so they did alright. :D
maybe if you learn to spell "doesn't" and "warranty", I will consider even entertaining the idea of you calling me an idiot - if only for a laugh
Also, the CD drive would work, and the computer had other important problems with it. If you are willing to sacrifice the ability to have a CD drive or a computer that has the performance you paid for, that's your choice if you decide to keep the defective laptop when you have the ability to get a perfectly new replacement for free.
You know, when I first started watching this video I was pissed off, because I was just thinking "Fucking rich kids destroying something that I can't even afford", which is probably what the other people that left negative comments were thinking. But after thinking about it, I realized that what you had done was completely destroy the laptop, so it couldn't be resold to someone else as a refurbished, which is what would have happened if you would have returned it in the way you got it.
care to explain why? It was completely covered under an accident warranty, and the computer was bogged down with viruses, as well as the fact that the CD drive was broken. He was told by Dell that he could only get another refurb laptop, which was what the one in the video was. He said he didn't want a refurbished one, and they told him that he could only get a new one if it would be covered under the CompleteCare warranty.
yeah, he got a brand new replacement one after arguing with the Dell guy that he deserved a new one (they wanted to trick him into accepting a refurbished one, which the one he destroyed was) - and he has been using it since 3 months ago when he ran over the other one (it took like 2 weeks to get the new one)
My friend has CompeteCare accident warranty - they were required by contract to send him a new one no matter what. To confirm this beforehand, he had a really funny phone call with them asking what would happen in hypothetical situations - ("If I were to accidentally urinate all over the laptop, would you replace the computer?" "Yes sir, as long as it is an accident.")

A) This is not me in the video, nor is it my computer that is being destroyed
B) It was completely covered under the warranty, and he checked to see that it was before he did it.
