  • What a GREAT man Mr. Lawrence Welk was, he is surely missed!

  • Congratulations from Brazil

  • These are the "good girls" who have joined the Tea Party of morons.

  • Polish-Irish sisters !!! What a great combination.

  • @Remulakfubar : Right. But I'm willing to bet they didn't live on welfare !!!

  • I wish TV was this good nowadays! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!!!!!! :(

  • I think they were lip synching!!!

  • @Listersmate2 They were..loll

  • They were Republican.

  • i love it and i hate it... diff ways of thinking inside my own mind...

  • Proof that just because it was the '70s doesn't mean those ladies had to like the Bee Gees, Lynyrd Skynyrd, or Sly & the Family Stone.

  • U'no, aisle bet if we played this in a room w/ terrorists, we woulda won the War on Terror [snaps fingers] like that. (Unless they like that ¶☺♫∞, which may explain the War's current progress.)

  • How many crazed groupies was he banging?

  • yes, I totally agree, wish i had a time machine

  • STOP! Hammer Time!!

  • Cute ladies indeed! A+++ OOOO LA LA!

  • fgh

  • Ale laski

  • This brings back memories for me. It was back when my brother married a young German lady. Her parents and grandmother loved polkas and Lawrence Welk.

They were a nice family and the people at the wedding were gentleman and ladies. Back in the day, women had natural hair colour!

I was the same age as the youngest Semonski sister; and marvellous Myron Floren remains a favourite of many.

  • MYRON FLOREN! My hero!

  • I never get tired of this stuff. My grandmother danced with him during WW2. I always wondered if the Lawrence Welk show was still on would Snoop Dog lyrics be performed on the show in a sugar coated way? Cristal is champagne after all. Myron performing nothing but a g thing on his accordion might work.

  • If the Lawrence Welk show was still on would Snoop Dog lyrics be performed on the show in a sugar coated way? Cristal is champagne after all. Myron performing nothing but a g thing on his accordion might work.

  • made in Czech republic , autor hudby Jaromír Vejvoda česky název - Škoda lásky

  • imgagine them sing naked...

  • Somehow this both sucks and blows

  • The "little one" was quite a ham on stage. Lawrence looked like he was having a bit of a problem holding her up after dancing LOL

  • I had forgotten about these girls, they were cute especially the little one.

  • takes me back to my days in the army in germany. boom boom.

  • the little girl is cute

  • Better TV shows back then

  • If I had been alive in 1976, those two dancers would have been at my wedding.

  • @apollo100 Dead people aren't allowed on youtube.

  • @etbella3 It's not fair to the youtube-living. Just like our nation's overcrowded cemeteries, youtube limits how many words we can squeeze into the youtube oblong. A lot of dead people would not be in that condition if they had shown more consideration to their living counterparts, on or off youtube.

  • @apollo100 I was alive in 1976. I was 11

  • apparently lawrence promotes underaged drinking

  • My uncle really enjoyed watching this show. He's been gone now 25 years this year.

  • What a terrible view for the audience. And speaking of which, look closer. EVERYONE is old!

  • @imcomingin No shit! The audience would be 110 years old today!

  • That was horrible lip-sinking.

  • @TheJcp1234 It's probably just the sound and video being out of sync.

  • @pumpkinqwerty I hope so.

  • @pumpkinqwerty

when they zoom in on that little girl in front it doesnt even look like she is singing in english.

  • Should these young ladies be singing about beer? I know the one in front is well under the drinking age

  • Lawrence can still do a mean polka!

  • thank you for posting this it reminds me of being at my grandparents house the loved this show

  • RIP Myron Floren--The Happy Norwegian.

  • those chicks are HOT.

  • I think the youngest gal is just moving her lips. Her timing is all off and she is repeating what they have already sang.

  • @AccordionProfessor The audio is not syncing properly. But still a good song. This show is large part of my childhood. My grandmother and I always enjpoyed watching this show togeather on PBS.

  • Love that tuba bass. He made that tuba his bea-atch.

  • Wonder if they had their own ball team.

  • The Lennon Sisters ..they AIN"T!!!!!

  • Wonderful wonderful

  • The Chicken Dance?

  • Radio 2 ... visual version ..... USA 1956

  • my grandpa, "dave edwards" was in this band. he passed away whn i was about 3 or 4. no memories of him, and my little bro never met him

  • A german 1920s tune ("Rosamunde") turned antigerman under the blitz on London 1940 is still okay to bring on a show i the 1970s - not bad for such a simple song

  • @54SV It is not German. It's originaly Czech song, composed in 1927 by Jaromír Vejvoda as "Škoda lásky". So it is original Czech polka song.

  • the corniest show ever!

  • When I was 5 years old, the youngest Semonski was my first crush!

  • I'de polka their beer barrel

  • Semonski Sisters were hot

  • polka music........LOL

  • I liked the Semonski sisters.

  • thats alot of wild polish women for one shy norwegian boy like myron floren

  • Jesus H Christ, do they make the Islamic jihadists at gitmo watch this over and over..

  • @bluemax111f Use your OFF button, nobody is compelling you to watch. Idiot.

  • Find "Gitti und Erika" on YouTube and listen to them sing "Rosamunde" (The Beer Barrel Polka)............in German.

  • Audrey is a stunning beauty, but she always looked stoned to me!

  • These ladies look a lot better than the ones today. Back then you can tell who was female. Today you need to examan them.

  • We all know what happened to the chicks after the "gig".

They ended up at Myron's all night orgy.

  • @texbobw you're quite the idiot. We can all see where you come from.

  • Is it just me or were chicks much hotter back then...?

  • every generation has hot girls and ugly ones

  • @cloudy7

Quit looking at the 10 year old.

  • @thepolacek

I see you already have your eye one her, you've got problems dude, seek help. I'll take the rest of the other chicks in which I was originally referring to.

  • @cloudy7 no, they were hotter then. maybe it was more of a 'wholesome' look versus today's "slutty" look

  • @cloudy7 They were a lot more innocent looking and therefore more appealing because they left more to the imagination instead of the way that so many sleazy women dress today. So, the answer to your question is yes, the ladies were hotter back then.

  • @cloudy7

Not only were the chicks easy on the eyes but the music was MUCH more a pleasure to listen to

  • @cloudy7 Not to mention more conservatively dressed and very well-behaved!

  • @cloudy7

These ladies were about as OK to look at as Myron Floren was OK on the accordion.

  • @cloudy7 Me, back then. You, back door man.

  • @cloudy7 They clap real good, just like Paula Abdul used to clap on American Idol.

  • @cloudy7 Screwing motions with the legs. Lawrence Welk demanded sexual strictness so body language was used.

  • @cloudy7 Date Lawrence Welk-ish girls and you never catch the clap, dudes.

  • @cloudy7 It's not you cloudy the chics were hotter then because they were not politically correct.

Also cloudy, how many Hollywood actresses today are as popular as the late Farrah Fawcett in her prime?

Gosh, those were great days we will likely not see again.

  • @cloudy7 They had a less harsh and more feminine style, which didn't make them look like men in drag as a lot of women today do.

  • @xXPinkGoddessXx Well the oldest Semonski Sister would have been 19 and the youngest would have been 9 when this show was taped.

  • @cloudy7 It was a golden age! After Birth Control and before AIDS...

  • @cloudy7 yeah.

  • @cloudy7 Yes Because they didn't show you what they had and Lawrence made sure of it on his shows strictly family entertainment purity of the family and purity of the music

  • @cloudy7 they are :A

  • @cloudy7

Chicks are hot today too, but they act like men.

  • @leafyutube And Dress like Men too

  • @cloudy7 I suppose they left more to the imagination.

  • @cloudy7 they also had a lot less make up back then so it was natural beauty

  • @texbobw your a filthy pig. We don't need rubbish like you around.

  • I remember exactly where I was, when this first airred. oh memories. Before PNAC, Before the Quatro of Evil Bush, Clinton,Bush,Obama = BCBO

  • Very sad to see Lawrence dance with the youngest girl. A vain attempt to recapture the charm of his dances with little Janet Lennon years earlier. These sisters were good singers. But they simply could not bring back those glory years when the Lennon girls lit up the screen every week on the Welk Show.

  • AllI can say is Lennon Sisters they are NOT!!!!!

  • i love lawrence and so does my cuz'!

  • 7/24/05: Myron Floren, the accordion virtuoso who came to fame in the mid-1950s

as a regular on "The Lawrence Welk Show," the long-running weekly musical program that brought "champagne music" into millions of

American homes, has died. He was 85.

Floren, who continued performing until the last few months, died of cancer Saturday at his home in Rolling Hills Estates, according to

Margaret Heron, syndication manager for the Welk show.

  • Great job, Myren-uh... "You can have her, I don't want her, she's too fat for me!"

  • Because of a slight sync problem with the video / audio, it looks like the girls are clapping on 2 and 4. Swingin' baby!

  • I found a dead cat on the side of the road

So I took it home and put some honey on it

And I put it in the oven and then I ate it

    Was that bad?

Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo

  • This is delightful! Thank you for posting.

  • Myron's Angels

  • Lawrence Welk, and this song, bring back so many good memories.

Remember when T.V. was just fun and not too clever for its own good?

  • Bobby is now the host of The Lawrence Welk show on PBS on Saturday nights.

  • the litte girl is not even singing

  • poor you

  • You have too much time on your hands.

  • Love Polkas

    Thanks

  • One Is Never To Young Or To Old To Enjoy Viewing The Lawrence Welk Show! A+++++ Thank you for posting this nice video! A+++

  • shut up

  • I wonder what became of Bobby?

I don't see him trying to sell life insurance or hearing aids on the cable channels -- is he still alive?

  • Delightful! Thank you for posting.

  • やっと、この映画の予告編を見つけた!投稿者に感謝。

    最初のデートで、彼女と観た映画です。まだ小学生だった。あの頃 僕は、この映画の意味が判っていたのだろうか

  • It may not be groundbreaking, emotive music but the players are v.good and it made people happy - hey, what the hell !!

  • charming and lovely, I always enjoy hearing this group sing. thank u 4 posting

  • I don't understand that "fake" comment, either. Lawrence Welk and his Orchestra played real music that a lot of people enjoyed hearing. They seemed to enjoy themselves playing it. And they performed well. What's so "fake" about that? If people don't like Welk, his band or his music, then they should look at stuff that makes them happy instead of posting negative comments here. Why rain on anyone's parade?

  • I disagree with ffailane57s remark about it being fake. Having met some of the Welk stars in my lifetime, the show was genuine, decent and far from the crap they call entertainment these days.

  • I would rather see these kids singing than the skanks that sing in 2009! Little Michelle was cute. They ought to have a reunion show and see what the Simonski sisters look like now. They are all probably grandmothers or maybe even great grandmothers, the oldest ones that is.

  • yea we need more drug addiction, depression, crime, divorces....

  • tu no sabes nada ffairlan57

  • The thing that bothers me about Lawrence Welk is that he took all the raunchiness and raw edge out of jazz and the big band era, and turned into this lily-white world of perfectly behaved people that smile all the time. That's what made this show so fake.

  • pretty cool

  • I suppose they were his version of Da Lovely Lennon Sisters in the 1970s

  • USE AN ACCORDION, GO TO JAIL. THAT'S THE LAW.

    (seen on a bumper sticker)

  • Accordions are actually pretty hip these days. One doesn't need a white polyester sport coat and a smile to make an accordion sound great. Even Sheryl Crow plays one.

  • '76 saw some of the best albums ever: Kiss' "Destroyer"; Aerosmith's "Rocks"...great albums.

  • My grandma would love that.

  • Does anyone see something a bit odd about a group of young girls singing a song about drinking beer? Especially on a "family" show?

  • Only if your cultural persepctive is of this time - shallow, denigrating and vulgar pop filled with pornography and degeneracy. LW performed during a much more civilized age in this country.

  • That's relative, it's all perspective there buddy.

    Opinion!

  • Aside from the pornography, the nicey-nice goody two shoes approach of LW was rather fake.

  • Comment removed

  • And the worst of all, the original lyrics was about love, not beer.

  • We need more variety shows like this on TV now.I hope someone does work to do it.

  • I'd really like a nice big frosty beer right now, but I can't drink because I'm an alcoholic.

  • So what did you have? just for my inspiration? Nice big frosty glass of water?

P.S. The original lyrics from 1934 is about love, not beer....

  • Zing boom tararrel, ring out a song of good cheer. Now's the time to roll the barrel, for the gang's all here...yeah!

  • I know you've heard it before.....What a great beer drinking song.........

  • that's some bad ass accordion backgrounds when they start singing. I like the banjo!

  • I don't think they made it too long as the Lennon Sisters did!

  • You must be talking about Arthur Duncan, he was the African-American tap-dancing star of the show who could also sing! btw, the way ur not supposed to say n***** anymore.

  • Who said i cant say it anymore? What happened to freedom of speech?

  • "What happened to freedom of speech?"

Political correctness is what "happened" to "freedom of speech."

  • Those people weren't a big part of the American scene during the 1970s. Even growing up in the S.F. Bay Area, I almost never saw anyone who wasn't White. Ah, memories....

  • Das ist gut, ja?

  • Does anyone have "Hot Diggity" by the Semonski sisters on the Lawrence Welk Show. The little girl is freaky in that one... Exorcist freaky

  • I was going to ask the same thing. I still laugh in my head a little when I see her face when she says "BOOM". Bwahaaaa!

  • this is the only song anyone should ever make love to

  • It's a wander this isn't at more concerts :P

  • My Grandparents loved watching the show especially Myron Floren. I love him too... They all will be missed and well remembered.

  • You wee you wee you wee yoo whooo whooo!! I LOVE polkas; FIVE stars!

  • roll. out. the barrel!!!!!

  • DO. A. BARREL ROLL!

  • My father still has his first accordion (a Pan Jet). It is a very nice accordion. He has about 4 or 5 accordions at home and my mother wants him to get rid of them, EXCEPT for the Pan Jet. She personally LOVES his PanJet. The others that he has are: Cordovox (x2) plus a Hohner.

I recently bought myself a used HORCH accordion. It is VERY beautiful and sounds good also.

Myron was some player. I even wish that I was 1/2 as good as Lawrence Welk.

God bless the both of them!

  • There should be another clip of Myron playing this song alone. I remember one on the "Million Sellers" show, with the men's chorus singing. I think Dick Dale, Larry Hooper, Charlie Parlato, etc.

  • The Pan was probably in the shop! Ha ha this one is a gulietti. typically you see him playing a chambered Baton model Pancordion. And in other clips you see him playing a model that Pancordion made special for Lawrence welk it has a little champgne glass in the lower corner with an inscription that reads 'special built for Lawrence welk'... no kidding.

  • does anyone else wonder what happened to the pancordion in the shows he used this one in???

  • My guess is he had his favorite to use every week on the show. Probably took this one on the road. I'm sure Myron had a few accordians at home.

  • anna onea anda twoa
