guys the ps3 cant find your ip adress because your computer or laptop has a securtity setting that does not let other people share connections with your computer. you need to go to your connections then click on your area connection and go to properties.once in go to your internet sharing setting and tick the two boxes. the go and see if that worked. it did for me so. if it did not work for you then it has to be your securtiy. just call the company that secures you computer and ask them :)

I could be wrong but I think you made a mistake. You meant to say modem not router. If you have a hard wire connection it comes from the modem not the router, if it's the router then it's not a hard wire connection, correct.
