You're better off selecting the sky using "color range" (to select darker parts [clouds etc] of the sky hold shift + click). Adjust fuzziness accordingly. Clean up selection. Then open sky picture. Copy it. Close. Back to 'original image' with selection. Edit > paste into. Change skylayer blending mode to multiply. Adjust levels and move highlight/shadows lever to where the curves start. Adjust opacity accordingly.
