  • I remember chasing down their tourbus in Seattle. Big impact for such little fellas. These posts bring fond memories and cigarettes.

  • Love the song, the video and bloody love this Dave. And the Bob Dylan's picture.

  • What is on Damon's head?

  • it's pretty cool that they have Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde and Love's Forever Changes stacked up at :33 when Graham is playing. Can't seem to recognize the one below or next to Dylan's record.

  • @AnIntangibleBadge Aye, I saw Dylan too. I got excited.

  • i still think leisure was their best album. most youth filled and rebellious. i like modern life is rubbish, but it's a little too clean cut for me, and parklife is a little too campy

  • It's called The Blur because of Blur's American record company, way back in 1992 they were sent on an American tour and the record company kept referring them to as The Blur from Manchester, it's all in Alex James' autobiography.

  • god they look dammn good in this video

  • 2:13 to 2:17 . . . Loving Damon's dance!!!!!

  • The Bang is an amazing song by The Blur. The Damon Albarn and the Graham Coxon are amazing musicians.

  • I love how the Jersey Shore advert plays before this...

And what's up with The Blur?

  • @jackson2578 What?!

  • don't know but they used to sound a lot like the stone roses in this album

  • never seen the video..thanks

  • Great song as always for Blur! One of the most talented guitarlist Graham rules. Blur are the best. Dave' drumming is a masterpiece too,

  • I don't understand why Blur regard this as one of their not-so-good songs.

    It's brilliant!

  • That guitar solo which starts at 2.14... is just pure class

  • THE BLUR! like rthat!

  • damon sounds a little different than usual in this... but who cares, this rocks!

  • The Blur?

  • The Beggins of Blur... fantastic

  • At 1:16, he's Flava Flav. XD

  • saw them play this live in Ptld Or, it was real cool... a good vib. I believe it was in1997. I saw a comment below saying they didn't play this live until 1999, unless I'm wrong with my memory of the year, they played all thier singles that night .

  • One of the best Blur songs...so little views...what a shame!!

    LOVE U ALEX JAMES!!!

  • Nice piece of useless info: this is Dave Rowntree's favorite Blur video (although he doesn't care too much for the song).

  • Now that's the sort of information that would've appeared on VH1's then "Pop up Video" slot.

  • True British Baggy at its finest rem hearing this for the first time and still love it now love leisure blurs finest album next to parklife.

  • fuckin can't ever get enough of this song...ever ever ever

  • The Blur?

  • deffo one of the best blur songs

i think leisure is realy underrated and modern life is overrated =]

  • OMG Bono22albarn! Is true !!!!!!!!!

    Damn, fucking bitch! u.u

But Damoncito ♥o♥ aww he's so lovely in 2:12

  • Graham is crazy on this track.

  • If you look closely in the video , Justine is on the far right corner of the table across from Damon and Alex .

  • lol oh yeah, jees i didnt know that was her...was she damons gf at that time then?

  • yup !

  • oh right, kwl

  • not one of their better ones!

  • Great video

  • sorry to disagree but my step dad saw blur in bournemouth in 1997 and they did play this song then

  • Damon sings to the camera like Justine Frischman...probably vice versa

  • I remember them playing this on TOTP. Damon had a cardboard chicken cut out on a stick and he was a little bit stoned!

  • love for damon @ 2:12

  • quicker than a ray of light!!!!

  • I heard that Blur don't like this song. I think it's one of their best, and I'm disappointed to hear that they rarely play it live.

  • I love this song too! Didn't realise a live performance was so rare - I feel lucky now! The video is a little lame, but I guess this being such an early track I can forgive them!

  • I think the video is great!

  • Apart from the all the singles tour in 1999 (where they had to play all the singles every night). Blur have not played this live since 1992. One of the singles tour preformances is up on youtube.

  • The Blur?? Parlophone doesn't even the correct name of its bands

  • "Britopop" was just a lazy soundbyte by idiot journalists and marketing morons to catagorise a diversity of music from a given period.. when alot of the music was non compare...

  • Alex looks like John Squire!

  • Don't get me wrong cos' Blur are my favourite band, I just don't see how they are calssed as britpop? It is hardly pop music. I would class it as alternative :)

  • britpop is a genre, derived from alternative rock..

it was originated in uk.. preferably in the 90's/

  • i miss these bands - blur, pulp, stereophonics have been musicheroes. only oasis are still alive :-(

  • Blur are back!

  • Have you seen the movie live forever? A little too focused on oasis but still has pulp, damon albarn and a few others on there.

  • not any more!

  • You're right, only Modern Lie Is Rubbish and Parklife were really britpop albums. Blur get unfairly dismissed by people who don't like Britpop even though they managed to move on with albums like Blur, 13 and Think Tank and Oasis never have yet inexplicably remain more commercially popular.

  • The Great Escape is also considered Britpop.

  • Yes, you're right, sorry. But I think my point still holds.

  • deffo brit pop!!

  • I read your profile TimesSquaregirl, You're a member of the BNP jesus fuck, I know you're young but you should be getting old enough now not to be indoctrinated into their bullshit

    They're racist fascist cunts.

Whatever about the failure of other politicians or problems in society, that fact remains.

Do you believe a "white" person who goes out with a brown yellow or Black person is a race traitor?

What about the Irish? How do you feel about them? Am I white enough for you? Or do we not count?

  • TimesSquareGirl let me know she doesn't support them now, so yeah that's good to know.

  • @TimesSquareGirl it's totally pop. it's just good pop. Such a rarity in the past 20 years that no one thinks it exists

  • nice video

    grande blur!

  • Uh...they were a Britpop band...not Brit grunge...have you not listened to the majority of their stuff? Seriously...it's only the last 2 albums that weren't completely Britpop.

  • Isn't it ironic how they make fun of grunge bands in Song 2 but yet they emerged as a Brit grunge band?

  • the blur?! parlophone what happened... i had to delete it from "the" facebook seconds after i posted it :)

  • no lol lol idiot

  • One of my favorite Blur music videos. And a terrific song as well.

  • The Blur?, Nah, Just Blur

I Can't Believe Parlophone Got Blur's Name Wrong!!!

I Absolutely Love This Song, It's Really British And It makes Me Smile Everytime I Hear It :D

  • Lol Parlophone got Blur's name wrong!

  • love the london images...

  • love Graham's guitar playing in this song

  • the blur lol wtf.

  • It's interesting. The video for this track is kind of similar to Gorillaz 'Tomorrow Comes Today'. I know both of these songs are early singles. Maybe it was on purpose?

  • hahaha who is the fool that ses The Gorillaz are better?

Gorillaz are more conseptual but not better.......never better than Blur

  • ...The official Parlophone video calls them "The Blur"? Wow.

  • lol i was thinkin that

  • I believe that's because they were called that very early in their career. They dropped the 'the' later.

  • If you can give me proof of that, I will eat my own cock off of a plate.

  • priceless.

  • I heard this song when I was first trying to figure out who Blur was and loved it, but totally forgot what this song was called. 2 years later, I am happy that I found this...cool song.

  • The Blur Vs The Oasis lol..

  • damon rock. i was never a huge blur fan nor gorillaz and blur grew on me a long time ago and a few years back the whole Gorillaz thing just clicked and all made sense. funny how that happens and it just 'clicks'

  • lol,I like damon's dancing at 2:10-2:16.

  • I love old The Blur. Immense. wtf!

  • the blur lol

  • I prefer The Oasis.

  • i love blur!

  • 'The Blur' haha wtf?? Anyway I L.O.V.E this song!

  • This is a great song. It came from their freshman effort "Leisure." Loved it seventeen years ago and love it now.

  • I like it!

  • "The Blur"? Who the hell put this crap up? Some emo kid?

  • Nope parlophone records... the fools
