Actually no stop-motion is necessary. It's simple geometry.

@mohitdandekar123 not really, if you look at the related videos there are paper versions that show how it works. you are definitely not a sherlock holmes. They have to be the same size since they are two halves of each other. Its made up of cubes split in half. Six pyramids make a cube, and each single piece is made up of eight pieces that are made up of three pyramids stuck together.

It's not a yoshimoto cube. It's a double-star flexicube. I did my research, with the result of me doing one of the stars in origami.

im pretty sure its a yoshimoto cube, since it was invented by Naoki Yoshimoto

Yeah, true, but a yoshimoto cube is a name for a normal cube with such properties that you can fold it like the two stars together in the start of the video, and it can't split into two stars. A yoshimoto can be called a Flexicube too. So, this right here is either a double star yoshimoto, or a double star Flexicube. But I call it Flexicube.
