I love how everyone labels everything dark gothic. Evanescence, fronted by a talented singer, is very generic and heavily influenced by the European scene that initiated nearly a decade before they came out. Both singers are incredible, but for me, Tarja is the more talented of the two, however, a lot of people do no like classical music and will therefore say Amy is better. And I love how this is a Tarja/Amy video yet there is no Tarja music on here. Nightwish is better than Evanscence.

Que Tarja "cante mejor porque HA ESTUDIADO OPERA" ya es otra cosa, pero en cuanto a lo que es la VOZ, yo al menos no podría decidir, porque son MUY diferentes.

Well this is more of a voice competition than song writing, true tarja doesn't really write most of the songs she sings but voice wise she beats amy in all aspects, just my opinion. I agree with you that everyone has their own taste but personally when i listen to Amy sing she's completely flat with a crappy vocal range

the way that amy sings obviously strains her voice and it's not like people don't get sore throats. though amy's voice does project more than Tarja's does and her voice is also way more powerful. Also, Amy's performances live are much more entertaining, simply because she likes to get the audience going. Tarja doesn't exactly move around. Then again, she can't really, seeing as the breathing for her type of singing would be jeopardized. Both are amazing singers but I think amy comes out on top.

I dont even think you can compare the two. Amy and Tarja dont even (in my opinion) fall into the same genre. Amy is more of a rocker, and Tarja is more symphonic. They both have exceptional voices :)

I'd say amy is more of an alternative metal. Mainly because my view on rock is is very diferent than metal. But I do agree, they are very beautiful and have amazing voices.

Amy Lee is a very talented singer,and Tarja is a wanna bee opera singer that never learned how to sing and definitely has no power in voice to sing real opera.Both of these bands have nothing to do with goth music which you will surely learn if you stick with the goth movement long enough to actually learn something about it.Btw.I really don't see the point of making this video.

of course who's ignorant don't know tarja's work... she is from Finland, there's no chance for finnish bands in USA...but tarja has way better singing and music skills in general. She was leading singer in many operas in Finland and was elected better singing in many awards...I'm not saying amy sux, on the other hand, she's a great musician as well, but please know first so you can compare,amy lee is good; Tarja Turunen is a GODDESS...

@jctcmc59 Well in my opinion and hopefully u dont take it the wrong way, people who know and are into music, would know who tarja is...I myself am into all sorts of music,and some of my friends ask me how i know about them, and the answer is easy.... I love music.. so just because we hear about Amy more than we hear about tarja does not mean she is the best of the best..so therefore its not really a fact, its your opinion.just like this whole comment i wrote is my opinion.. just sharing...

don't try to contrast 2 different voices!!! it is said that tarja is one of the most amazing voices of 21st century. amy has a great voice but sometimes she doesn't sing right at lives!!!! tarja sings opera and she has the right tech to sing live! she is the no1 frontwoman nowadays!!!

the way that amy sings obviously strains her voice and it's not like people don't get sore throats. though amy's voice does project more than Tarja's does and her voice is also way more powerful. Also, Amy's performances live are much more entertaining, simply because she likes to get the audience going. Tarja doesn't exactly move around. Then again, she can't really, seeing as the breathing for her type of singing would be jeopardized. Both are amazing singers but I think amy comes out on top.

I dont even think you can compare the two. Amy and Tarja dont even (in my opinion) fall into the same genre. Amy is more of a rocker, and Tarja is more symphonic. They both have exceptional voices :)

I too like them both, and yes, they're different, but i think amy is both more gothic and Emo, but tarja is better at performance. evanescence is more mixing. at live performance, nightwish never does mistakes, but Amy, sometimes her voice is wierd, or a tone different. but personally, my favorite is Evanescence.

Eh...Ninguna de las dos bandas y vocalistas son goticas... Nightwish es metal sinfonico/power y Evanescence es rock alternativo/pop :, asi que no tienen nada que ver con la musica gotica :)

Amy Lee is a very talented singer,and Tarja is a wanna bee opera singer that never learned how to sing and definitely has no power in voice to sing real opera.Both of these bands have nothing to do with goth music which you will surely learn if you stick with the goth movement long enough to actually learn something about it.Btw.I really don't see the point of making this video.

i love them both...they're my favorite singers of all time.
But they are not goth...nightwish/tarja is usually classified as sinfonic(whatever) metal....and evanescence as hard rock... it's really hard to put them in a category
