  • i guess god plays chess, but the problem is... no one can beat him!!

  • I think he might be jewish

  • This guy couldn't possibly look more Jewish if he tried.

  • I have to admire this clip. And in admiring this clip, I admire the Jews. Thanks.

  • In America They Eat All over the place. LOL. There's no invitation whatsoever!!

  • I totally beat that guy on chess.

  • 25 people dun like god

  • great video of Bobby Fischer thanks for it

  • i play this video when i want to fall asleep. im not joking, its very relaxing.

  • @troubledownbelowsir

".... Also, pawn promotion doesn't show how we can serve God. ..."

Basically, the idea of the Jewish religion is to raise up eventualy to the God's level. So by getting promoted, from pawn to queen, you almost become equal to God. According to the Jewish wisdom, it's your duty to reache your Creator and that what He wants us to do at some moment of our lifes. So yes, actually, when/if you get promoted from a simple human to some other "rang" you please God.

  • boring

  • its a good lesson but i wouldnt relate it to a religion...

  • Very nice lesson. Thanks for the post.

  • Thank you very much Rabbi, very good story.

  • interesting, confusing but very interesting...

  • incredible.....food for thought

  • It's a little boring at the beginning but ends with an interesting twist, it's worth watching,

  • Excellent anology and great video 5 star.

  • Nice video. Pleasant. Two items. Sam Reshevsky was a great chessplayer, but not world champ. Also, pawn promotion doesn't show how we can serve God. By the way, in Chinese Chess, Xiangqi, pawns move only forward, even when they capture, until they cross the middle of the board (a river). Then they can move sideways, too. When they reach the last rank, they can only go sideways. They are called "dead" pawns and are less valuable. Now that shows how we can serve God, blessed be Her holy name.

  • Thanks for the video it really opened my eyes to the world and chess. Thank you

  • i have never though like that about chess

  • thats pretty cool

  • First 5 minutes are boring, last 20 seconds make watching this video worthwhile.

  • Wow.Cool 5/5

  • you are so wise. Thank you.

  • Yes, I think this lesson can be applied to any good religion. Great analogy!

  • Beautiful analogy

  • it was an interesting story, but why did he say only jewish souls what about others?

  • The Rebbe was talking to a Jewish chess player at that time, about Jewish observance. But this lesson can be applied to anyone.

  • Because Jewish souls have an element therein others dont have and its called "Nefesh Eloquis or Elokis" Research those words for yourself.

  • I disagree, I'm Mexican, and if a Mexican person tells me that our group of souls are special, more so than any others, I wouldn't believe him. In history there have been ideas passed down from generation to generation for Survival mind sets, wll within the group. Simply put, we all posses special souls.

  • @GoldeWC Why he should take care about others!? Are others IMBECILES who can not care about themselves. What is your problem? D you need guardian or you are sick of political correctness?

  • Baruch HaShem, and todah rabah for that illustration!

  • Sam Reshevsky was a grandmaster and brilliant player, but he had never been a world champion.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • When is someone officialy a grandmaster?

  • When they achieve three "norms", or performance marks. Basically, to become a titled grandmaster in today's time, you need to have at least a rating of 2500 I think, some tournament experience, and achieve performances at the level of a grandmaster, three times.

  • The title of 'Grandmaster' is given by the world chess federation, known as FIDE for exceptional performance in international tournaments or matches. The [new] Grandmaster receives a certificate and is officially listed with a 'g' next to his or her name on the FIDE rating charts.

  • I think its when you attain the ranking of 2400 elo

  • Samuel Reshevsky was a many time U.S. Champion as well as a many time world championship candidate. But yes, he was never a world chess champion.

  • @Yogy07 And in one match Alyechin sactrified Queen and some more pieces in order to give Check - Mate to Reshevski.

Fischer - Alyechin - Capablanca == 3 THE GREATEST AND UNIQUE CHESS GENIUSES! EACH ONE HIS OWN WAY!

  • @kozjevime1 maybe you dont know morphy or mir sultan khan prolly the best NATURAL player to ever play being a slave and had no training but played and beat grandmasters.

  • Mensh

  • nice

  • what did he say?

  • Very cool this is the kind of thing for which youtube was meant!

  • WOW great message
