  • It's well hidden in a remote corner of the Belgian Ardennes. And it's a no tourists allowed event... only reënactors! Great event!

  • can i join, me and my friend have formed our own reenacters group up in cold lake alberta. theres about 60 of us and we have some good battle drills.

  • they had cannons in medieval times? i thought they came up with gun powder in renaissance...

  • apparently their first use was at crecy, by the english, 100 years war. if im right?

  • you probably are... myself i dont know much detail about history

  • Your not completely wrong if your talking about it for French history or for the 100 year war, but in Europe it was the first used in Spain in 1248. Gunpowder was found out by the Chinese as a medicine, and was then changed to gunpowder mixture we know in the 10th century. Firework already existed long time before too so it explains much of it too, but officially the Chinese used it first in the battlefield in 1132. Mongolians used it thereafter, Indians too then Arabs and finally the Europeans.

  • nice! thanx for the insight

  • Oh please, don't make me blush! XD I'm just a medieval freak knowing his fanatical hobby. ^^

  • Obviously you know your stuff, no need to feel modest about it... love middle ages myself btw...

  • Doesn't look like by looking your profile XD

  • well, i got some medieval battles stored in my favorites...

  • i think a english monk made the gunpowder formula in the sense of using it as a weapon?

  • That's what European people thought, we even thought the Devil was in him and pushed him to find this invention out. But it's all just to show Europe as superior, but no it's the Chinese who found it out. Sources prooves it.

  • Is this England of france? Coz, I saw that black smith in England and was going to buy one of his swords
