hard going bro i from down in otago in new zealand we run bb85 ploughs on our step hill country cause they are the only thing thats ever lasted most of the time we would be luck to be ploughn 15 to 20 cm due to there being stuff all top soil and mainly rocks under neith the rest of the world is not a bog like the uk
@DeWitteB no what are you talking about its a case you got to baby it along. if you get lucky it stay running all day. cant beat on the old girl she might drop dead right there. cant do with it what you can with anything else. case is special be nice
In some areas ploughing deeper than this would bury a lot of the topsoil and bring up unwanted ground. I think this is an excellent plough job for going so shallow. Nice equipment
why do all these people wanna go deep and bring up new dirt with no nutrians in it if you always work the same ground were your roots are then its way better soil go deep and you just flipp all the good stuff down were your roots dont get it
I think you don't know what you're talking about... Sometimes it IS better to only plough the top soil. But I guess you've only worked with normal sand or something..
@psalm50 Maybe that is the only depth of soil that he has to play with! it did sound very stony. I had 1 little field that if you tried to go below 4 inches you hit bedrock. I used to spray it with roundup and just disc it, it was not worth trying to plough it.
hey dumasses -the intention here is not a deep till it is to torn over the grass and expose the roots to choke out the sod, then after about 2 r 3 weeks you return to break it in by disking.
some ground CANNOT be no tilled where im about to work is a 10,000 acre farm where 80 % is broke or ploughed the other 20% is disced and ripped/ridged for produce besides greens and wheat grow perfect year after year in ploughed ground
in his defence there does seem to be quite a few rocks there, but still way too shallow

that's not ploughing, you can talk about ploughing if you go minimal 20cm(8 inches), normaly 9 inches or 25 cm deep
