  • Bela interpretação com muito swing.

  • Amazing!

  • There's a wonderful version of this tune (also live) on his album _Twelfth and Pingree_, with the great George Mraz on bass.

  • So gentle to hear this big horn cry.

  • Aside from his wonderful playing, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

  • Pep and Nick Brignola were the best bari players that ever hooked the neck strap on a bari

  • Hey Out there in cyberspace?! Is there more of this Pepper Adams gig ?!

  • Wow, Pepper's really kicking it.

    He probably is THE Jazz-baritonist.

  • Pepper is the best Saxaphonist irregardless of type or any other consideration.

  • He is up there with Nick Brignola and Hamiet Bluiett

  • a great musician and a great teacher pepper was always encouraging to the young bari players such as myself!

  • This cat cuts Mulligan!!

  • he killed mulligan long ago indeed

  • I was recently listening to my latest eMusic downloads which included Touchstone by Donald Byrd/ Pepper Adams quintet (It was part of my Herbie Hancock worship!) and I immediately felt that I had never heard Bari sax played like that before. The best I could describe it was: it's like the guy doesn't know he's playing a bari. Ha! I also was finding what may go into my all-time top 25 albums list and a Bari player I should have known about all along. Pepper made the big horn run, jump and sing!

  • @FredStembottom The last point is a good one. He did make the bari run and jump.

But I am in my countrys youth band and I play the bari. Once you get used to playing it you can play it like a tenor or alto. I say that and sound cocky, I know,. And I could never be able to touch the sound that comes out of this gods sax!

  • I just sit back and close my eyes and listen as I recall what a MARVELOUS artist Pepper was...Thanks for posting this most amazing musician!!

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • I figured if I liked Ronnie Cuber and Nick Brignola so much, I better go back and hear some Pepper Adams. I'm glad I did!

  • Superb, I think Pepper just pipped Gerry Mulligan and Serge Chaloff as best bari sax ever. His interpretations were awesome. RIP

  • This is a beautiful soulful song one of my favourite all time ballads.Pepper kicks ass on this one.

  • Greatest bari player, EVER. What sax does he use?

  • That is more than likely a Selmer Mark 6 or a Super 80 judging by the circle ring going from the bell to the body.

  • pepper in my opion was the best baritonist in jazz, raw and swinging R.I.P pepper

  • definition of baritone saxophone beast. right here

  • Pianista maravilhoso!!!

  • Beautiful.
