It's 12/2011 the risk now is low, it is like having your hair cut. The reason it gets a bad reviews is because patients think they are receiving new young eyes. Reallity check, it vision correction to the best correction 20/20. But the younger and healthier you are the faster you will heal.
I find is a little unnecessary to pay 1000 whatever dollars for a chance to go possibly blind. Stick with glasses, or get some contacts. So what, everyone is gonna have bad eyes sooner or later in life, but that's life. If you want to ruin your eyes, or even have irratated eyes all the time, then ok, have fun. :/
It's been a year and 2 months since I had this done.
After exactly 6 months, I had eye dryness problems. I would wake up with swollen, dry eyes and no liquid or eye tears would have helped me.
Since then I moved to an industry/air polution free city (almost like countryside hehe); I changed how I live and eat: I'm eathing MUCH more fish, other meat, healthy fats, gym 4x a week, sleeping enough and I got NO issues anymore whatsoever!
What about pain? I felt NO pain. I felt a little "weird" cause they flushed my eyes with cold water but that's it.
How long does it take? 15 mins I was in there. Takes some time for preparation like anesthesia or how you say it in english.. :p
Do you see during the procedure? Yes. You have to keep your eyes wide open and they keep it open with some sort of plastic thingies (doesn't hurt even tho they say it'll be uncomfortable or w/e)
I had lasik 6 days ago and so far I'm quite satisfied :) my sight is 100% now, don't need glasses. My eyes are a bit dry but that should go away in a month.
after the 1 month checkup, my doc said the surgery was perfect. I have no problems whatsoever, no bad symptoms and no dryness. I am really satisfied and I'd do it again :)
Best decision I made. BUT be careful what clinic you choose. I chose the best that was available in Croatia with the best technology and went for it. Good luck!
@eRrOrR123 at least 18 years old although I've seen some clinics doing it earlier too - wouldn't recommend to anyone :( takes at least 18 years for the eye to form properly.
I had lasik surgery 1yr ago at LasikMD by Dr. Keon Nia and have been in constant pain ever since. Can't work, can't socialize, can't live life, Lasik Sucks!
LASIK was the worst decision of my life, it felt like a thousand needles sticking my eyes. They market it like it's painless but it's not. The suction ring felt like it pulled my eyes out of their socket. LASIK promotes permanent conditions with no cure:
-Dry Eye Syndrome
-Double Vision
-Night Halos/Starbursts
-Depression
-Loss of Visual Acuity
-Accelerated Aging of the Eye
-Lack of Natural Tear Production
-Each Year Post LASIK Vision Gets Progressively Worse

YouTube: FDA LASIK and watch and listen to the estimated 600,000 ruined lives!!!
But, what if, a patient takes the LAW into their own hands, now ruined and suicidal feeling there is nothing to live for? Doesn't this create an "x" factor for the Lying LASIK Doctors to think about? Does safety now come before money for once? Only time will tell. Basically, the Lying LASIK Doctors have lied in order to save a lawsuit, while pushing the patient past the Statute of Limitations to sue them which is about 2 years usually, all while ruining his patient's eyesight and life.

The dryness is still there - especially after I wake up or when I don't get enough sleep.
It's easily fixable with eye drops but the morning thing is bothersome.
Soon I'm going for a checkup so Imma ask the doc is there anything that can be done.
Feel free to pm me for any questions

@Sevostharte I did use some eye vitamins for a while and I do think they did their share of help.
Recently I've tried out some Twinlab products and I'm amazed with their quality.
I got my eye on their eye vitamins so when I try em out I'll give you a shout :) If someone already tried please pm me about satisfaction!

Would you do LASIK if you knew the TRUE SUCCESS RATES?
1st Year Post LASIK: 88% success rates.
2nd Year Post LASIK: 65% success rates.
3rd Year Post LASIK: 50% success rates.
4th Year Post LASIK: 45% success rates.
5th Year Post LASIK: 40% success rates.
6th Year Post LASIK: 40% success rates.
7th+Year Post LASIK: Below 40%success rate.
Will you be one of the "lucky ones" that can last 10+ years without contacts or glasses?
