David Ruffin messed up everything. Then was found in an alley frozen stiff. Had it all goin on. That's what I think about whenever I see Junior. I wonder if he influenced Ruffin. To want to TAKE OVER the Temps. & rename it DAVID RUFFIN & the TEMPS. & other ideas that got him the streets! Walker, Horn matched only by MACEO, then singing like BIG JOE TURNER, HARMONICA FATS, gots to be Bad enough to be the "BOSS".
any other songs open with a gunshot? Whatever, these guys did it first - and for a black man to threaten gunplay violence on the radio, even in the context of romantic crimes of passion, was pretty in-your-face for those days - and I fucking love it, this song makes me breath harder & curl a snarly lip every time I hear it
I love this song and appreciate the post, but I have to laugh everytime I see the picture of the woman wearing the 'high heeled shoes' on the cracked cement. Anyone notice how red the back of her heel is from the strap of the shoe. Maybe she was dancing too much!
i like how they borrow from this song to create the version of the cosby show theme song from the 1991-1992 final season. people who like that show know that every season had the same theme song but in a different version or genre.
1967 SAIGON, this song, 13 yr old Vietnamese girl went OFF" on it! Everybody went crazy for her! She was Mixed Black! Viets didn't have it! You go to SIAM, BANGKOC, THAILAND, Tiger Woods land and you would find girls, that could get off like the one in the video!
ShotGun!!!(BOOM!!!!) this song I heard from my pops way back when I was just a lil guy.Later I got hooked 2 the song n forever be in my collectin of gud party jams.So Kiick back ladys n watch how the SHOTGUN BLOWS!
I loved this song when it came out and I was a kid, I love it today.

As a 9-year-old little boy, I recall seeing Jr. Walker and The All-Stars doing this song on TV ("Shindig"?? "Hullabaloo"? "Ed Sullivan??).
I started dancing around the living room, much to the chagrin of my parents, who were afraid I'd hit something.
All these years later, this song STILL wants to make me get up and dance!
One of the most danceable recrods in Motown's long and distinguished history.
