@aikighost You can have two FX at a time, and every track has it's own send level. I use the thirdparty software JJOS2XL and i dont know anything about the Akai sh!t software :-P
@kolakube123 Well, if people like to use their computer for music that's cool by me. I have tried to make music on the computer but felt that i was loosing my inspiration (hard to explain). Hardware is for music making and software is for music stealing ;-)
@aikighost Well, the rythm is clearly old skool electro (not the modern 4/4 BD stuff that sounds almost as minimal techno), bu who cares the MPC can probably do techno just as good ;-)
Thats really cool. Are the waveforms part of an internal programme or did you need to upload them. I use JJ OS but can't find the waves, are they usually part of the machines internal memory?
@PerseusTraxx I used a saw wave from a gameboy, but yeah you have to sample something yourself. You can also download some basic waveforms from the JJOS webpage.
@SLagerZahne excellent - cheers for that. I only wondered as I remember some of the older rack samplers from akai having waveforms built in for such synthesis as part of the os, but couldn't find anything like that on my mpc.
Yeah I remember that. My S1000 / S3000XL both had around 4 to 6 waveforms built in. In honesty I never really use the waveforms that much. After watching this maybe I should have.
@Kaos976 It's a sampler, you have to sample stuff yourself. There are some demo sounds on the unitm, but they suck! You can also download soundpacks on the internet and transfer them to the unit. Good luck.
So how are the FX on the MPC 1000? Can you have a lot of different fx on different sounds at once?

@kolakube123 Thanks, it was only done because i think that it can do so much more than hip hop ;-)

@SLagerZahne
One of my mates writes deep house using only his MPC 2000 XL to sequence with. I sequence Goa / Psy trance on my 2500.
Like you say, It always gets me too how Hip Hop producers make up 95+% of users. This is the best hardware sequencer ever made.
In my honest view, the MPC is the hardware equivalent to Ableton Live but miles more fun!
Computers are for facebook, youtube, ebay, banking, uni work etc. I just cannot use the same device for something so expressive as music also

@PerseusTraxx Yeah, i can remember that. A waveform could be rendered to a looped sample.

This sounds great. I think you sold me on why I should get this. How many beats,samples and sounds do you get with this?
