That's odd, I could have sworn the news said that his father was hitting on his mother..Marvin intervened and his father went into the back room, and came out with the shotgun. I remember his father later attributing the shooting to his tumor during the court precedings. Also, hadn't he come over to visit his parents, I dont believe he was living with them. The shooting occured after his last Motown performance.

Yeah.. Marvin Sr. was upset over some misplaced insurance docs, and was fussing at Ms. Alberta (Ms. Gaye) and Marvin was allegedly under the influence and he hit and kicked is father which provoked him to shoot his own son. It is believed that Marvin was actually beating his father several other times which led to this horrific event coming to pass. One of Marvin's photographer had said 'That Marvin wanted to die, he was just too scared, so he had his Daddy do it for him'

he was also broke at the time of his death.I wasn't old enough to think when he died.but seriously think people romancized his life too much.Its sad his father killed him.I think he still is in death row for the crime.I am not even sure there are any pics of Marvin from 35 to his 40s.He looked like 10 years younger embalmed "oops I said it ".
