Sorry for your loss. I just recently quit taking pain killers, and it wasn't until weeks after I quit that I realized all the bad decisions I was making. 4 years of being in denial and shutting people out for no reason. Drugs totally turn you into a different person.

I have 2 young girls and it's my daily prayer that God watches over them and every other young person's life daily to prevent this wickedness from entering their young and impressionable world as it did your daughter's. sad story but i was born in 82 and i see she was born in 85 this is why i don't have kids. ive been saying it for as long as i can remember i will never have kids . i will turn 29 in dec and still have no kids there is no telling what your daughter put you threw and would have put u threw even worse because of a drug that doesn't believe in anything. i feel for your loss but on the other hand you never miss what you never have
Addiction is the real enemy here. When a person has to turn to drugs there is bigger problem. Without resolution the problem consumes the user, any drug will do. I do not know so much about meth, but I can say we all, the enitire american society is to blame. I don't know how to fix it. I think love is the answer, but how do you love someone enough to save them.....

I am saddened to know of your loss, but when I was a little girl, I was sexually abused, and was offered drugs as a way out, and just said NO to drugs.....I have had problems with alcohol over the last twenty years, but have quit drinking when I could. I believe everyone has their own demons, and that you can quit if that person wants to quit. Drinking isn't as bad as drugs, but I still found the courage to quit many times.....my heart goes out to you for your loss.....
@shezzallee what? Drinking isn't as bad as drugs!?!??! It is a drug. It killed 75,000 people last year, way more than meth, heroin, and all the other drugs combined. And its not as bad? WTF? I suppose you think weed is bad too, even though its NEVER killed 1 person in the 6,000 years its been used. Don't kid yourself, booze is as bad as many drugs, maybe not meth but its worse than many others.

@topaztic very very true. Making it a criminal act does nothing to help AT ALL. people are in pain, try something like meth, and it fills that void temporarily....but eventually it becomes so embedded that it just continues the cycle of using and so on.

@MickeyLove01 There are no images, because like most addicts when they are using they are also isolating- at least from family and those that truly love them and have their best interests at heart. I have come to some conslusions; curiosity, peer pressure, self medicating, etc. but she took most of the answers to her grave. I will only know the real truth behind it all when we meet again in Heaven.

A very sad story, but one that offers hope by and through the power of the Word of God. If you want to give you children a better chance to avoid being offered this poison sold on the streets, first and foremost, DON'T EVER SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL. When you send your child to a public school, and if there are 945 other children attending, chances are , your child may be offered this poison 945 times while in that public slime pit. @KenzieNorberg Don't be too quick to believe your sister is 'getting clean'. On average it takes 8 or more SERIOUS (there are many that aren't serious) attempts to get clean from any addictive drug, be it Heroin or tobacco before a person gets clean. Drug addicts learn very quickly how to hide their addiction, to blame circumstances on past behaviour & to say exactly what you want to hear. I wish the best for your sister but as a former addict, for her own good, do not trust or pander to her.
I never cry. I watch something sad, I don't cry. I watched this whole video with a straight face. Finally, when I reached the end and saw that news article, I somehow started to cry. Right now I'm crying because I know how much it hurt you to see this happen. She looks like an amazing girl, and I just wish we could bring her back because we need more people like her. I have had extensive psychological testing and all types have come back in the normal range (which amazed me, bc I think I'm looney). However, one thing that was clearly explained to me is that most people really are arseholes and if you are surprised to find u care at the death of a beautiful young woman, who could have been so much more (who knows even cured cancer) then u have no heart.

Why don't you write your government & enclose images of brain scans from teenagers before & after marijuana addiction? Show them the horrendously reduced brain function of kids on dope & ecstasy. Just maybe they'll stop using whores & drugs to lure us disenfranchised kids in & instead find more worthwhile tourism trophies?

How did the mum let that happen you ask? When you're dealing with an active meth addiction, everybody is helpless... including the user, their family, everybody. It takes an act of God (and the willingness of the addicted) to quit. Beautiful Miss Emily's mother did not "let this happen" and she is now going out of her way to prevent this from happening to anyone else.
I've been sober 5 1/2 years off Meth. I had a overdose 14 days before Emily passed. I didn't get sober till august 27th. My life is a complete 180 from what it was. I now work for a leading treatment center for alcohol and drug addiction, and give nearly all of my spare time to helping this cause. My heart goes out to you Julie. God bless you.
I have used meth 3 or 4 times in my teens and decided quickly that it wasn't for me. I hated the side-effects. I am happy to have never became addicted. Im so glad I told my "used to be friend" no. When he offered me this shit. Kind'a sad, we were best friend's from childhood. he got 16 had a kid, started smoking weed, then taking pill's, then meth. Now he is 19 and looks similair to a 35 year old. I cant stand looking at him now. Becuz it fucking hurts to see were he let his life go. it hurts becuz he used to be a good looking guy, no homo. Now he has coroded teeth. And a constant thought of where he will get his next fix.

@TravisLeeSturgill the reason I say this is bc I've been there but I'm a ridiculously strong person. Therapists who hear my story can't understand why I'm alive! Globally standardised tests (with inbuilt systems to identify lies or cheating) say I'm 'sane', within 'normal' range for anger, opinions, non-psychoses etc. I used drugs as a young adult, bc I didn't care 4 life. No one helped me & my partner died. Save ur friend NOW while he's alive, bc most ppl aren't like me & I've seen 2 many die.

@Twig419 Unfortunately, at the time she started using there was not that much information available about meth and what it's made of. Drug dealers don't give you a use/warning sheet like the pharmacies do. Many start using without being aware of the grave consequences.

The shame of this situation is that your daughter was penalized for a disease and that while she was being penalized she was left to her own devices to take her own life. If drugs were legalized and regulated your daughter wouldn't have been in that jail cell.

@OurTroopsRule No he wasn't. We divorced when she was two and he never bothered to see or pay child support on her. I had to work two or three jobs to provide for my family. What a difference it might have made to have only had to work one job and spend time with my children...I'll never know though.
@jnagengast The newspaper said marijuana only - however, I was there right after the arrest and the arresting officer showed me the methamphetamine that was in their possession as well. I've argued the "pot" argument over and over...please see numerous posts about what is wrong with pot.

alrite ive been smoking weed for about 6 years now(everyday or everother day) ive did cocaine about mabye 10x or 20x never liked the 30min-1hour high of numb so idi it mabye once a month, i have been doing meth 3-5 month smoking it n snorting it,

Addiction is the real enemy here. When a person has to turn to drugs there is bigger problem. Without resolution the problem consumes the user, any drug will do. I do not know so much about meth, but I can say we all, the enitire american society is to blame. I don't know how to fix it. I think love is the answer, but how do you love someone enough to save them.....

I am saddened to know of your loss, but when I was a little girl, I was sexually abused, and was offered drugs as a way out, and just said NO to drugs.....I have had problems with alcohol over the last twenty years, but have quit drinking when I could. I believe everyone has their own demons, and that you can quit if that person wants to quit. Drinking isn't as bad as drugs, but I still found the courage to quit many times.....my heart goes out to you for your loss.....

@shezzallee what? Drinking isn't as bad as drugs!?!??! It is a drug. It killed 75,000 people last year, way more than meth, heroin, and all the other drugs combined. And its not as bad? WTF? I suppose you think weed is bad too, even though its NEVER killed 1 person in the 6,000 years its been used. Don't kid yourself, booze is as bad as many drugs, maybe not meth but its worse than many others.

@topaztic very very true. Making it a criminal act does nothing to help AT ALL. people are in pain, try something like meth, and it fills that void temporarily....but eventually it becomes so embedded that it just continues the cycle of using and so on.

@MickeyLove01 There are no images, because like most addicts when they are using they are also isolating- at least from family and those that truly love them and have their best interests at heart. I have come to some conslusions; curiosity, peer pressure, self medicating, etc. but she took most of the answers to her grave. I will only know the real truth behind it all when we meet again in Heaven.

If you want to give you children a better chance to avoid being offered this poison sold on the streets, first and foremost, DON'T EVER SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL. When you send your child to a public school, and if there are 945 other children attending, chances are , your child may be offered this poison 945 times while in that public slime pit. @KenzieNorberg Don't be too quick to believe your sister is 'getting clean'. On average it takes 8 or more SERIOUS (there are many that aren't serious) attempts to get clean from any addictive drug, be it Heroin or tobacco before a person gets clean. Drug addicts learn very quickly how to hide their addiction, to blame circumstances on past behaviour & to say exactly what you want to hear. I wish the best for your sister but as a former addict, for her own good, do not trust or pander to her.

Right now I'm crying because I know how much it hurt you to see this happen. She looks like an amazing girl, and I just wish we could bring her back because we need more people like her. I have had extensive psychological testing and all types have come back in the normal range (which amazed me, bc I think I'm looney). However, one thing that was clearly explained to me is that most people really are arseholes and if you are surprised to find u care at the death of a beautiful young woman, who could have been so much more (who knows even cured cancer) then u have no heart.

Ie: I can never travel to America again (I've been out twice) bc my BF, when I was 18 (also a Heroin addict), robbed someone at fake gunpoint. I just stood there doing nothing, which made me guilty bc I should have called the police. Now I have a permanent guns ban on me, so I can't travel to America again. Why don't you write your government & enclose images of brain scans from teenagers before & after marijuana addiction? Show them the horrendously reduced brain function of kids on dope & ecstasy. It is very easy for people to criticise and to judge other people but when I saw you giving that little baby a bath and holding her-my heart just broke for you. As a mum to a precious daughter myself I know that I cannot (nor do I want to) control her future decisions, I just hope they are positive ones, unfortunately your daughter made some bad ones.

How did the mum let that happen you ask? When you're dealing with an active meth addiction, everybody is helpless... including the user, their family, everybody. It takes an act of God (and the willingness of the addicted) to quit. Beautiful Miss Emily's mother did not "let this happen" and she is now going out of her way to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

I've been sober 5 1/2 years off Meth. I had a overdose 14 days before Emily passed. I didn't get sober till august 27th. My life is a complete 180 from what it was. I now work for a leading treatment center for alcohol and drug addiction, and give nearly all of my spare time to helping this cause. My heart goes out to you Julie. God bless you.

I have used meth 3 or 4 times in my teens and decided quickly that it wasn't for me. I hated the side-effects. I am happy to have never became addicted. I am 29 years old now, and that was almost 15 years ago now. I enjoyed your video. Emily was beautiful and my heart goes out to her Mother and those closest to her. I am sorry for your loss.

Im so glad I told my "used to be friend" no. When he offered me this shit. Kind'a sad, we were best friend's from childhood. he got 16 had a kid, started smoking weed, then taking pill's, then meth. Now he is 19 and looks similair to a 35 year old. I cant stand looking at him now. Becuz it fucking hurts to see were he let his life go. it hurts becuz he used to be a good looking guy, no homo. Now he has coroded teeth. And a constant thought of where he will get his next fix.

@TravisLeeSturgill the reason I say this is bc I've been there but I'm a ridiculously strong person. Therapists who hear my story can't understand why I'm alive! Globally standardised tests (with inbuilt systems to identify lies or cheating) say I'm 'sane', within 'normal' range for anger, opinions, non-psychoses etc. I used drugs as a young adult, bc I didn't care 4 life. No one helped me & my partner died. Save ur friend NOW while he's alive, bc most ppl aren't like me & I've seen 2 many die.

@Twig419 Unfortunately, at the time she started using there was not that much information available about meth and what it's made of. Drug dealers don't give you a use/warning sheet like the pharmacies do. Many start using without being aware of the grave consequences.

The shame of this situation is that your daughter was penalized for a disease and that while she was being penalized she was left to her own devices to take her own life. If drugs were legalized and regulated your daughter wouldn't have been in that jail cell.

I can only imagine watching a beautiful young girl grow up to start being a beautiful young woman, then having all of that changed. I know it must be very hard on yourself. She truely was beautiful... I can't even begin to think about all that she and many others could have been without this drug being a part of their lives. I am not quite sure how you feel, nor do I hope to ever, but I am sure that with time your pain will ease. You're doing the right thing by spreading the word. -Hunter.

@OurTroopsRule No he wasn't. We divorced when she was two and he never bothered to see or pay child support on her. I had to work two or three jobs to provide for my family. What a difference it might have made to have only had to work one job and spend time with my children...I'll never know though.

@jnagengast The newspaper said marijuana only - however, I was there right after the arrest and the arresting officer showed me the methamphetamine that was in their possession as well. I've argued the "pot" argument over and over...please see numerous posts about what is wrong with pot.

Julie, I commend and thank you for allowing Jesus to give you strength and courage to share with us your testimony on losing your prescious daughter.You are an awesome woman for acknowledging Jesus openly and not ashame of it . Now I have no doubt about where your strength comes from. Thank you for having the compassion and desire to warn meth users to seek help or DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING METH ONCE. EMILY'S DEATH WAS NOT IN VAIN. I will contine to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

the government needs to stop putting all our tax dollars into advertisments about trying to stop Cannabis and focus on drugs like meth and the hardcore drugs

@RedneckRosso I disagree 100%. I presume ur American. I've visited couple of times. Ur media is a mess. It's always news shows on 'black man terrorises white woman' or 'gun fight at X location', never anything nice, which is why ur country is so fearful/screwed. Come to Oz & see news about happy stories, disabilities overcome or kittens with abnormalities living happy lives. Media affects behaviour. Drugs should be legalized. alrite ive been smoking weed for about 6 years now(everyday or everother day) ive did cocaine about mabye 10x or 20x never liked the 30min-1hour high of numb so idi it mabye once a month, i have been doing meth 3-5 month smoking it n snorting it,
