It is not designed as a "basketball" shoe per se but you could wear it to play basketball in if you have strong ankles and don't need a mid or high top shoe to support your ankle with all the jumping and pivoting. Hope that helps

@ifrogz1 why would you ever use running shoes to play bball.. its designed to go straight and using it for bball damages the shoe very quickly.. Unless your just a amateur player who doesn't cut etc..
