hey just wondering what battery your running and how are you mounting it in there so its balenced i got 2250 45 cell i had lying around so i want toput them in it so if you could give me some ideas that would be great
Did you reinforce the wing or airframe at all? or are you just carefull to not pull to hard at high speeds............ I have a 35-36 1300KV ........ is that the motor u are using? I have been looking at this airframe as well........... nice stuff ........ how does the 2200 zippy fit? That's what I use, good ol HK.....LOL
@axelsfolks I don't have this plane anymore, it developed a weird hand launch quirk and I lost it a couple times, didn't replace it. This is the 1100kc motor. Plenty of power and I like the lower kv for larger props. The COG is way to far up IMO on the stock plane, mine is back about 3.25" or so. To get the battery to fit, you have to cut some of the foam under the canopy. Then I looped a velcro strap under the fuse to hold it down. HXT900 servos worked fine to.
@axelsfolks I also did have to deal with the broken elevator problem. Never a problem in flight. I was a nice plane, also didn't mind flying in a lot of wind.
@referfag Cut out the bottom of the canopy. IMO the COG of the stock P-51 is way to nose heavy according to specs. I bought an airframe kit and built it up. I think my COG was about 3.25" back from the LE.
I have this motor, Turnigy 35-36C 1100kv, futaba 4 channel radio SkySport, how do you recognize it the motor and Esc 40-50A, when I turn on the battery it beeps 3C lipo August 2 and August 2, I do not know
The ones I usually fly with are almost a year old silver zippys. They come down puffed every time. I usually go 6-7 minutes flying fast. If I put in a nice 40c 2550 the plane has more power and I can fly longer. Still I keep all flights now under 10 minutes.
when I started flying I painted the wing tips, this helped me a lot. Only the tops, green and red. Scale planes are by far IMO the hardest to see, The nice silver of the p51d is rough on a blue sky.
I havnt been flying long but I swear it seems that the more I do the better and better I am able to see and keep track of it. So how much faster did that setup make your Gunfighter?
Well one at work the rest at home. Oh have a MPXT in the car now on my out of town work day(see Lake Charles video). Nope don't keep any at the camp house, what fun would that be, can't fly them if I don't ahve them!

@robjinhouston Also did not do any extra support. A little wing flex was about it.

@axelsfolks how are you putting that battery in it with out messing up the flight

How much flight time do you get with the 11x7 & 2200 battery?

Do you think decals would help with visibility?

I have another video of it clocked at 72mph with a 10x10e prop. I think I can get a little more out of it if I wanted.

I have this same plane but I have a hard time seeing it. I couldnt imagine how hard to see if it was faster

Yep, silver over silver is a little tough. I usually keep it close and restrict it to scale type flying. Just buzzing up and down the field.
