She does fine job, even if the guitarist is a little too active for my taste. You can kind of tell that she'd been coached to be"poppy." Toward the end, she starts to try to swing her arms and shake her head in a way that was popular in the day. She's a little uncomfortable with it, though she's gamely giving it a try. Thanks for posting. She had a great voice.
40 years ago we sang this @ St.Patricks School in Rolla Mo. We even had long discussions in Religion Class about this one. I attended 7th grade 1970/71 in Rolla Mo. @ St.Patricks.....Lots of good memories.
anyone from this area is precious in our memories of once when times where innocent. and music was all about feelings and good feelings, not like today where it's all about anger and how the world owes todays greedy people.
@trailboyus66 I think it was a Joni Mitchell original, that many folk musicians covered. Nobody really tops Joni, but this is by far my favorite rendition by any other artist who has attempted to cover this beautiful song. It sounds real coming from Skeeter Davis, which few others have managed to do.

in a cave. Her duets with Bobby Bare are awsome.Rest In Peace Skeeter.

Wow! Skeeter did an awesome job on this. I dare say even better than Judy Collins on the origional. God bless the memories of Skeeter.
