I had my grade 3 ballet exams yesterday so i'm technically in grade 4 now wich means... pointe shoes!!! i am so excited any time someone says ballet i tell them about how i'm going on pointe soon!! When i get my results i get to go to my fitting!! ahhhhhh! :D :D :D :D :D :D wishe me luck!

It's almost been a year since I got my first pair of pointe shoes I was 11 years old when I got mine now I'm 12 and it will be a year in January!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it I've four pairs since then the first three pairs were freed studio two and fourth pair Suffolk spotlight

I am getting pointe shoes on the 16th! i cant wait! Lucky... people get to use to pads, at my studio you have to use wool until your second pair of pointe shoes.

@nnpurple no, I hate them too!! I can't get over the box at all.... And the show feels so crammed!! I just tape my toes, and then wrap about 4 layers of sports foam wrap around, it's rlly rlly thin, but protects ur feet more :) u can barely feel it!

am i the only one who hates wearing ouch pouches?? i prefer to tape my toes and use a spacer and if i HAVE to i use a little lambs wool under my big toe but i cant STAND ouch pouches

I had a dance accident and ended up with a bone bruise about a year ago and couldn't do much afterwards, but it has finally healed and I get my pointe shoes this January. :)

I wear glisse by capezio. I like them because they break in easy and I like soft shoes

We buy pointe shoes for my daughter who is in a vocational programme in the uk at the original flagship Freed store on St Martin's Lane London and the very experienced fitters there would throw a fit if they saw that guy kneeling on the box of a new pointe shoe to "break it in", in fact they tell you absolutely NOT to do that.

Ew.. i don't like Freeds... the lady who fit my shoes said, "You know, I don't tell a lot of people this, but Freeds look really good on your feet." i just didn't like them because i could hear the glue cracking... i kill shoes so easily.. i went through about five pairs since last June... haha the lady's mouth DROPPED open... LOL

@Ballerina157 I had the same problem with Freeds.. I went through them so quickly I went through 3 pairs in less than 9 months myself. They looked great, but I destroyed them too fast. Now I have Bloch Amilies...LOVE THEM and i haven't gone through them yet!

This woman seems really nice and you can tell that she loves her job and knows what she's talking about. So many pointe shoe fitters don't know anything about how to fit a shoe correctly so it's great to see people like her. I would like to try Freeds one day but there's no store near my place that sells them.

I really like them they compliment my arch really well they are a struggle to break in but that is kind of good because my first pair (the bloch axioms) I broke in about a 3 month but my dance teacher kept glueing them so I have been en pointe for about 6 months
