The critiques of her voice are getting kinda, if not, really old. Who cares?!!! If you don't like her new voice, DONT LISTEN! Who needs another analysis of it.

she was said to have her nodules removed inn 2007. that's when the hoarseness, lack of range, breathing issues came. of course her smoking didnt help in the surgery recovery period, she didnt follow the doctors advice. now look what we get in 2010... shame, sad. =(

KL was after her drugs, rehab, etc her lowest point. her voice was on and off in 2004. from 2007 to 2009 dont know what happened but her voice got all baritone-like, no power, lack range, etc and this was AFTER the rehab. she needs to stop smoking!!! from 2007 to 2009 is big difference in speaking voice too. don't know what she did to herself then. hmm. maybe she had a relapse back into drugs over last 1.5-2 yrs??
God just 2 more days. I cant wait till her comeback concert. U guys knw right. She's officially back. Her concert is Saturday. She's doing lots of her classics and 1 of her new songs. I am so excited. Can't wait.

Actually, 2005 was the worst. That was a Whitney-free year for me from what I can remember! However, things are changing: on my California trip last week, I heard a man sing MLIYL at the Santa Monica pier, I heard HWIK at a candy shop in Monterey, and heard IYBT on the terrestial radio.
I was in that concert then in Beijing, so excited!!!No other singer can compare to whitney. The amazing voice. To be honest, I'm really doubtful on her voice before the opening, but, u know, whitney give us confidence! She is diva, she controls all stage, she conquer the audience with momentum and great power from her soul. You are the best, simply the best
with training, you can tell her voice will be back. it has been done before, and seeing that she is worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Arista, they will make sure its done for her.

this sounds much better then in 2002 on just whitney and 2003 at diva's singin on my own (the 1 where she sounds like she been eatin glass) LOL a bit too much echo tho, i have hope for her, she just wont be able to reach some notes like she use 2 b able to, still tops most singers.
I'm actually quite impressed by the tone of her voice. While noticably more pithcy and sort of weaker than "classic" whitney, she didn't sound half bad. I dont think I would have left the concert disappointed.

If you compare this with her vocals in 2001-2003, her vocals were crazy here!

Her voice SO MUCH better here rather than the one in Kuala Lumpor Dec 1st 2007 Malaysia.
Her voice in Malaysia seemed so shattered and no power at all.... Sad.
