Hey Joe Play KOF XIII. it's more of the finished version of the game. SNK really mostly is an underground company with the really low budgeting due to past mistakes but they are trying to make up for it and to come this far is something else.

JOE, reason you didnt understand the lack of story is that youre not familiar with the series. Thats the style of the game. Story is OUTSIDE of the game. The game is only about arcade mode, and it has always been like this lol. It's its "culture." it's a fighting game and they made just that. Imagine that guys train to get good at home, then go to arcade to play with other people for 50 cents a pop. yes they actually spend money to play it in arcade when they have it right at home

the last one I played king of fighter is KOF2000. the first I played the KOF series is KOF '97 on arcade and playstation and that is my fav series of kof because is my first time I played a fighting game with team system and use super moves. they have a good batlle stage(Bali is my fav) and a goood story with kyo kusanagi and iori yagami to be a main plot.

2. The Orochi Saga (The Best of the series so far)

3. The Nests Saga (Awesome)

Should of gave it a lower score the games not worth the price. Virtua Fighter 5, Tekken 6, and Bloody Roar 4 are the only ones worth it so far. I still havent finished leveling up all the characters/collecting all the abilities/getting every characters items. All this is offline stuff that makes me want to play them. Other fighters are trying to keep at bare minimum and keep your attention online which after being succeeded or a new console comes out, that games going to be worthless to you.

I'm surprised you didn't mention that the King of Fighters XII is a dream match. SNK makes dream matches to just include characters that died off inbetween story arcs. Other Dream matches include The King of Fighters '98 and 2002.

good review...i especially liked the part about the personality problem (nobody of the new gamers that does not know the kof characters gets any info about who they are). i did not notice it because i play kof games since 1994. i got the game for 10 bucks...and it for sure is the weakest kof game to date. SNK can really turn this into a winner with kof 13 if they add a lot of content and single player replay value.

Well you are right. A fighting game should have an excellent fighting system. KOF12 does that justice, but even fighting games should have some character cutscenes and background explanations on the characters.
