How to fix: UK players connect to UK players. Same with every other country. This would also help get rid of language barriers from the "no english" players..
Also, there are some crucial points you didn't explain in detail... for 3074 and 3075, you didn't detail if we were to Start 3074 - End 3074 or if we were to Start 3074 - End 3075.

Opening ports wont help you with the lag compensation, this has absolutely NOTHING to do with it. And you dont even need DMZs to open all neccessary ports, just enable UPNP.

A tryed googled this but for nothing. So if any1 know how to add ping daly, just let me know or make a tutorial video ;). I think that trying select a bad dns servers will add few ms to ping, but i would like to know how to set daly just in way like i want.

So next i tryed with uploading some files on megaupload and i have to say that my ping jumped to 300 ms from my standard 20 ms, amd some players couldn't do anythink with me, but some times there were a small group of players that killed me before i could even noticed them and there was a lot of lags (some times fps drop to 20-30 fps when i have normally 92 fps).

i have had a lot of success using a udp flooder i found in net tools 5 and setting the ip to 27.27.27.27 and setting the slider to about 75% it works with about 95% of people i have played against.its the same as downloading a large file or limiting your connection im not saying it will work for everyone but it has for me on XBL
Im a 1.7 k/d and i can't even join a lobby with friends because i will get destoryed by almost anyone because of lag compensation.. i will fire 8 shots.. and only the last 4 will count, but that will not kill him so in the end they turn around or kill me with 1-2 shots. I have to spend so much time to get 1 game without it, and i don't think ive had more then 15 of my games without lag compensation. Lag compensation is the difference between 22 and 0 and 11-11.
QOS is not passed to the internet it is going to use best effort. I find it hard to believe this helped unless you have an abnormal amount of LAN traffic.
Unless your router is garbage, it should handle normal LAN traffic w/o any issue.
They are ruining this game, its really unplayable. hopefully they will fix it soon.

The ports you have listed from that website are only from the PC version. The xbox 360 needs TCP: 80,53,3074 UDP: 88,53,3074. The PS3 needs TCP: 80,443,5223,3074 UDP: 3074,3478,3479. For PC it's exactly as you have listed. For multiple consoles you need port triggering as port forwarding only works to one LAN connection. Both are combined on your router but not for everyone. DMZ is the simplest way for a single console but the console has to specify it's own IP, DHCP gives a new IP at each logon

Actually, the people who constantly win are those with full green bars. When I have 4 full green bars ( No fluctuating) It is actually too easy for me to win. @RealityBullet No you dont. The lower the ping number the faster your connection. Which if you goal for a normal game. But as the video shows, the better your speed to more disadvantage you put yourself at. So you actually want the opposite for this game.
This so freakin worked for me. I went from 8-22 to 22-10.....I put my xbox into the DMZ and get 4 bar games. I change my QoS to low priority and bam problem solved

You're not at fault for abusing lag compensation, the developers should not include it in the first place. If people are paying a lot of money for their internet, they should not get a worse gaming connection than people who have horrible internet connections.
By putting lag compensation into their game, the developers are rewarding people with horrible internet connections. This should not be done in any video game.

I opened all my ports exactly as you pointed out in this video, but my NAT type is still strict. I haven't been able to get my NAT type open no matter what I try. Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing something.
@dustinjt That happened to my friend as well. What he did was manually set his ps3's ip to somthing that wasn't being used by another device. Then just forward the ports to that new ip.

@poketLWEWT I think you don't understand how it works. The point of it is to give a level playing field by giving everyone the same amount of lag.. This gets rid of people winning with a sweet ping. It is not something you can feel- unless you are comparing it to something. The easiest way to see it is killcams. You can shoot someone get 4 hit markers then bam you are dead. If you watch the killcam you will see that even though the were registered hits on your screen
@iTzHe4DHuNt3r You are 100% correct. Lag comp is a fundamental part of the netcode for MP gaming. The problem is MW3 does a poor job of implementing lag comp. There is a SIGNIFICANT host disadvantage in MW3, at least on PS3. Activision promises a fix is in the works!
@poketLWEWT Lag comp = definitely real, and acknowledged by Activision. Read fourzerotwo's tweets. Activision recognizes it is a problem and they say a fix is in the works. If you have an "average" Internet connection, you never see lag comp. If you have a terrific connection, you will get host, and will get PUMMELED by lag comp.
For some reason, my router doesn't let me configure the QoS settings. I have no idea if I can apply this technique, unless you know another way to set these "priorities"?
@RedruMxHD QoS isn't in all routers. A ghetto solution could be to just leave a streaming link/download/upload open on a computer on the same router. That should have a negative effect on your bandwidth.

Unless your router is garbage, it should handle normal LAN traffic w/o any issue.

The ports you have listed from that website are only from the PC version. The xbox 360 needs TCP: 80,53,3074 UDP: 88,53,3074. The PS3 needs TCP: 80,443,5223,3074 UDP: 3074,3478,3479. For PC it's exactly as you have listed. For multiple consoles you need port triggering as port forwarding only works to one LAN connection. Both are combined on your router but not for everyone. DMZ is the simplest way for a single console but the console has to specify it's own IP, DHCP gives a new IP at each logon

awesome video i opened up my ports and got nat open but my router has no qos settings... should i just play while i'm downloading a torrent? i could maybe limit the torrent speed to 100kbs or something so it wont take all of my bandwidth.

Actually, the people who constantly win are those with full green bars. When I have 4 full green bars ( No fluctuating) It is actually too easy for me to win. When I have 3 bars, this game is a real challenge because I am like a half second to a second behind.Oh yeah and the spawning is hilariously stupid.

@illuminati974 I have alright connection and never get host, and still I get this lag compensation against me. I see a guy and instantly drop dead, on the kill cam he's seen me for a good second before shooting. I wait round a corner and shoot as soon as I see him, on his screen I don't fire.
The lag compensation does not even the player field, its like everyone else has host advantage on you now.

This so freakin worked for me. I went from 8-22 to 22-10.....I put my xbox into the DMZ and get 4 bar games. I change my QoS to low priority and bam problem solved

You're not at fault for abusing lag compensation, the developers should not include it in the first place. If people are paying a lot of money for their internet, they should not get a worse gaming connection than people who have horrible internet connections.
By putting lag compensation into their game, the developers are rewarding people with horrible internet connections. This should not be done in any video game.

if you wanna know your routers ip just click start, click run, (or just type cmd in search for vista+), type cmd, hit enter.
Now type ipconfig /all
you will see your ip address and your routers ip will be the same except the last digit. :D

I opened all my ports exactly as you pointed out in this video, but my NAT type is still strict. I haven't been able to get my NAT type open no matter what I try. Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing something.

@dustinjt That happened to my friend as well. What he did was manually set his ps3's ip to somthing that wasn't being used by another device. Then just forward the ports to that new ip.

It's not just some BS thing we are making up, It's been around since 1999 on games like Half-Life, Counter-Strike etc.... Hey even Google about it if your still not convinced :)

@poketLWEWT I think you don't understand how it works. The point of it is to give a level playing field by giving everyone the same amount of lag.. This gets rid of people winning with a sweet ping. It is not something you can feel- unless you are comparing it to something. The easiest way to see it is killcams. You can shoot someone get 4 hit markers then bam you are dead. If you watch the killcam you will see that even though the were registered hits on your screen

@iTzHe4DHuNt3r You are 100% correct. Lag comp is a fundamental part of the netcode for MP gaming. The problem is MW3 does a poor job of implementing lag comp. There is a SIGNIFICANT host disadvantage in MW3, at least on PS3. Activision promises a fix is in the works!

If you have an "average" Internet connection, you never see lag comp. If you have a terrific connection, you will get host, and will get PUMMELED by lag comp.

@RedruMxHD QoS isn't in all routers. A ghetto solution could be to just leave a streaming link/download/upload open on a computer on the same router. That should have a negative effect on your bandwidth.

@RedruMxHD I have a Virgin Media SuperHub. I also tried using a Belkin54g, but neither of these allowed me to alter any QoS settings. Which is really annoying, as you'd think that being able to prioritize your connection's focus would be an obvious feature to include.
