Koscielny and Verminator at CB would make a good pair. I like Per because he's strong but also really slow.
Laurent has the pace, and enough strength to stop a lot of good players. He makes some good interceptions and makes some great runs toward goal. In time, he'll be better.
Wenger should play Vermaelen and Koscielny together, They could form a nasty partnership Koscielny has proven that he can be the best and along sdie Vermaelen they could be the best also he is way better than Mertesacker

Hes a really solid defender ... It's just a real big shame his mistakes normally cost the team, and shadow out all the good defending he does. Of course everybody makes mistakes but Laurents far too often lead to costly goals. I really hope Verms returns to full fitness soon, because he is much more trustworthy at the back, hopefully Mertesacker settles in well too. But to the whole team, conceding 14 goals in our opening 5 premier league games in unacceptable on all counts.

Thank you for posting this, I wanted to study one of the few defenders I've seen quiet down Messi. I think one of the reasons he does so well is he's simply blessed with pace, which most CBs are not. Agree?

We should get Dann though as he is young, English, underrated, and cheap (6 million). @gmanakadezil I'd get scott dan or mathias jorgensen. Kozzi is who I would play against smaller and faster teams, dann/jorgensen are who I would play against the likes of stoke and bolton. Vermaelen would be on the team for all matches if possible. I do think wenger should buy Jan Vertonghen too. He can play centre back, left back and defensive midfield. I would mostly play him DM or LB but being such a utility tool he would be brilliant to cover our players as they are always getting injured...
@gmanakadezil I don't think Hazard would be likely. It will be VERY hard for Lille to let him go. Maybe in January when Lille are out of the CL or next year but not this year. And anyway, I think buying another winger would be a waste. We already have Gervinho, Chamberlain, Miyaichi, Arshavin and Wellington Silva. Wouldn't mind getting Mata on loan though.

@gmanakadezil Well I think now that Chelsea say they are interested in Nasri because he is cheaper than Modric, we could see City and Chelsea go into a bidding war for him. A lot of people have been saying that a good deal would be 15m + Alex for Nasri. Then we get an experienced and strong centre back along with 15m to add to the supposed 30m we got for Fabregas. That's 45m plus an extra 15m for Almunia, Eboue and Bendtner. We can buy Hazard, Cissokho and a midfielder of choice.

Koscielny is a brilliant defender, parts of this season were shakey for him but thats because he went from playing Ligue 2 football to Premier League football; a big jump! The mess-up against birmingham was much more szczesny's fault than Kos. Szczesny was the one who fumbled it to Martins. People have to remember what this guy has achieved.. He has come from France and dived balls deep into English Football from almost day 1. His first season was always going to be a learning experience.
One of the best accomplished defensive performances i have seen by an arsenal defender for a long time. I honestly beleive koscielny would be a great defender next season when adapts prober. Thank you for posting this, I wanted to study one of the few defenders I've seen quiet down Messi. I think one of the reasons he does so well is he's simply blessed with pace, which most CBs are not. Agree?

@gmanakadezil did you not see Vermaelen and Kos play today? We don't need two new CB's... waste of money. Verm, Kos & Djou are all great. Squillaci is trash. We should get Dann though as he is young, English, underrated, and cheap (6 million). We should buy Dann and if Nas & Fab leave then two playmakers from this list: Mata, Hazard, Goetze, Kagawa, Honda, Dzagoev, etc. or anybody else really good (even if unknown) that Wenger can find for a good deal.

I just keep laughing whenever people say Kozzi is a flop, watch out this season.
What people have not realised is that in all the pre-season matches, the only goal conceded when Kozzi was on the pitch was the Jenkinson own goal.

@gmanakadezil I'd get scott dan or mathias jorgensen. Kozzi is who I would play against smaller and faster teams, dann/jorgensen are who I would play against the likes of stoke and bolton. Vermaelen would be on the team for all matches if possible. I do think wenger should buy Jan Vertonghen too. He can play centre back, left back and defensive midfield. I would mostly play him DM or LB but being such a utility tool he would be brilliant to cover our players as they are always getting injured...

@gmanakadezil I don't think Hazard would be likely. It will be VERY hard for Lille to let him go. Maybe in January when Lille are out of the CL or next year but not this year. And anyway, I think buying another winger would be a waste. We already have Gervinho, Chamberlain, Miyaichi, Arshavin and Wellington Silva. Wouldn't mind getting Mata on loan though.

@gmanakadezil Yeah. I'd sell fab and nasri for 60m and then buy Vertonghen, Gourcuff and Benzema. The thing is Arsene never plays two srtikers. I think against liverpool I'd play:
Szczesny
Sagna - Koscielny - Vertonghen - Vermaelen

Gervinho - Ramsey - Gourcuff
van Persie - Benzema
because apparently Wilshere will not be fit for that game, and I would not play Gibbs when he would be coming up against Downing and Suarez, I do not think he'd be strong enough to deal with them.

@gmanakadezil Hmm yeah it really does depend on Wenger. And I like your idea of Christian Eriksen. I completely forgot about him. I expect he would be more likely than Benzema or Hazard too. Imagine how good that team would be in the future. Buy Vertonghen, Eriksen and Benzema (he'd likely be cheaper than Hazard now that we've taken Gervinho) and then spend some money on young and upcoming defenders. That is the brightest future I've seen at any club.

@gmanakadezil Well I think now that Chelsea say they are interested in Nasri because he is cheaper than Modric, we could see City and Chelsea go into a bidding war for him. A lot of people have been saying that a good deal would be 15m + Alex for Nasri. Then we get an experienced and strong centre back along with 15m to add to the supposed 30m we got for Fabregas. That's 45m plus an extra 15m for Almunia, Eboue and Bendtner. We can buy Hazard, Cissokho and a midfielder of choice.

@gmanakadezil I would favour Gibbs over Cissokho, but this is Arsenal afterall and Gibbs is likely to get injured. I would not want to have to play Traore or move Vermaelen out of position when that happens. Maybe if Gibbs catches a big injury we could snatch Cissokho in January, but obviously as Gibbs is the most likely candidate for England in the future, I want to see him stay fit and develop.

koscielny and djourou make quite a formidable team. problem is, when djourou is without koscielny, he sucks. imagine, though, if wenger were to buy samba or cahill... impenetrable. if koscielny and djourou stood up against the likes of man u and barca, they can be deployed in the carling cup/fa cup where back up teams are played. they will dominate there completely while vermaelen and cahill/samba can take care of the first-team plays.

Koscielny is better than vermaelen people link the fact that vermaelen scores goals and how long he's been injured for he's good but not squeaky clean like most people seem to think. Arsenal are poor defensively because there is no leader nobody organising the defence this is why Jagielka would be a cracking signing for the arsenal

@zAnO1651 - if kosciely is better than why couldnt he do better in the 3-1 defeat to stoke this season, why could he handle the physicality?, i seem to recall us winnin 3-1 against stoke in the 09/10 season and guess what vermaelen was in that team at that match, if koscielny was better he would have prevented stoke from scoring easy goals, another thing is its unfair to say his better when vermaelen was out practicaly the whole season so how can u come to that conclusion?

Koscielny is a brilliant defender, parts of this season were shakey for him but thats because he went from playing Ligue 2 football to Premier League football; a big jump! He has proven that he has the quality to play at the highest level and hes gona be an awesome defender for Arsenal when he gains a bit more experience!

The mess-up against birmingham was much more szczesny's fault than Kos. Szczesny was the one who fumbled it to Martins. People have to remember what this guy has achieved.. He has come from France and dived balls deep into English Football from almost day 1. His first season was always going to be a learning experience.

One of the best accomplished defensive performances i have seen by an arsenal defender for a long time. I honestly beleive koscielny would be a great defender next season when adapts prober. How ever we need to get rid of squilaci,djourou,clichy and get samba,cahil and l.baines. looking forward to next season godwilling.
