  • how did the camera man hang on all this time,, wow simply amazing.. wonder if he survived..

  • @deemee22

oh hey madam. we have the year 2011. and incase your a lost scinetist who did a time travel....

We have somehting called Digital Cameras ...... its like MAGIC. its a small device that is taking alot of pictures in a second. to make it run smoth! like a .... VIDEO CAMERA :O

  • Captivation!!

  • What is the name of the second song?

  • @HelwaIssa DELIBES FLOWER DUET,LAKME

  • where did you hack this footage? seems like your the only one with it :)

  • i saw discovery take off at 6 in the moning the day after easter 2010

  • poor fish don't know what's coming!!!!!!!

  • 1:54-3:00 Got dizzy..haha Great vid! haha

  • without that digusting daftpunk-music it would be really amazing ;)

  • sweet jesus what is the first song's name.

  • @w0w00t "Around the World' by Daft Punk

  • nice vid, nice music, fucking brave people doing that, god speed to you all

  • i appreciate it but it's not new and threre is no information as a space lover i will give an advice to upload videos of spaceshuttle after leaving buster rockets bcoz i haven't seen these type of videos yet

  • OMG this is so amazing, the shadows of the clouds, that are at at least 10-20000 ft. look like inches above the water

  • Cool Clip

  • cool music Sync for the lift off dude

  • Awesome! Great choice of music for this video ;)

  • It's not so much the Shuttle curving as it is the actual rotation of the earth.. we just have a different perspective of it because we are stationary

  • It's not so much the roll of the shuttle as it it the actual movement of the earth as it rotates.. you're just getting a very different visual perspective of it all by being stationary on the the earth as it rotates... kinda like me coming home and trying to climb stairs after I've been hitting the bars all night... (if you know what I mean!)

  • Hello. ia m looking fot this video from Nasa in good quality. someone can help me please ?

    thanks

    Vivianne

  • Great footage. Thanks. 5/5

  • some parts of the space scene looks fake. a part of it looked like flashlight descending a black cloth

  • how does the aircraft roll at the beginning? and why? haha. i know i can't be the only one wondering

  • It rolls because they have it do a roll maneuver to ensure proper flight path. The how is the same way all aircraft manage to roll.

  • hmm well i d k the reason why i asked is because i didn't see the elevons move at all. check it out at 46 seconds the elevons stay stationary as the aircraft rolls and at 1:09 you could definitely see the elevons moving to pitch up the nose. any input?

  • Because thats the optimum angle to escape earths gravity. The shuttle doesn't launch in a straight line to space, its curved. Read up on WIkipedia.

  • yeah i finally figured that out. thanks. do you think you can answer my other question of how though? without elevon control on the actual shuttle? are there control surfaces on the boosters or something

  • Yea I think so. I remember something like that. Maybe it's just the weight difference? The shuttle is off center of the boosters.

  • I believe the roll is accomplished with the shuttle rocket engines. They are steerable and can pivot to introduce roll and pitch during the ascent.

  • If you didnt get your question answered, the orbiter and booster engines both swivel for guidance. The elevons dont move to where you can see them but are adjusted continuously by computer to dampen vibration on the wings during ascent.

  • @mach25man yeah i got it answered thanks for the info i appreciate it

  • How come the boosters didn t burn up on re entry?

  • Boosters dont burn up because there released at about 150,000ft (relatively low in the atmosphere) and they dont have the energy that the tank does. So its not exposed to the burning.

  • thanks so how does the shuttle keep its velocity as it takes about 8 minutes to get into orbit?

  • The orbiters engines run for 8.5 minutes and then the tank falls off not at orbital velocity yet. The tank since it is not going 17500mph makes it about once around the earth and falls back. The orbiter does an OMS pod burn which circularizes the orbit and gets the orbiter to 175000mph

  • cool

  • i new it was fast, but not that fast

    DAMMM

  • Dude that is so cool. I always wanted to go to outer space

  • Stay in orbit FAIL

  • fantastic video...!

  • awesome.daft punk + space

  • Regardless if it was fast forwarded or not.. This is AMAZING!!! Love this stuff.

  • Arby N The Chief OST lol

  • the ascent was fast forward it takes about 5-8 mins for the srb's to seperate not 1.30

  • Check out YT video TH8Oq0PuIU8 where the SRBs separate at 2:00m.

  • music is perfect for this video, very exciting, inspiring, profound... in that order.

  • it was real time

  • that was pretty freakn awesome, but i'm pretty sure its not in real time. it takes a little longer for the shuttle to make its roll to fly down spin. this video made it seem almost instant.

  • amazing video...!!

  • didnt realize the boosters had some vertical buoyancy

  • When the rocket boosters released, they already reached space? So it takes 2 minutes to get there with rocket boosters?

  • I hope the sky diver wasn't hurt, that is a hell of a way to fall.

  • ahh man amazing video, i love the bit when you see the shuttle carry on into space as the booster descends back to earth, like humanity going on and stuff, amazing.

it makes we wish i could retain my childhood dream of going into space, but with trouble in governments and humanity in the world, i feel this kind of money should be spent more on equality and bulding on a war-free planet and that...

SORRY TO GO ALL DOWN AND POLITCAL, don't get me wrong, this is amazing space exploration! Peace

  • Amazing stuff. Never knew this kinda footage was obtainable publicly

  • beautiful...

  • Agreed about the music, but this is the best footage of a shuttle launch I've ever seen; such a unique perspective.

  • Pretty good but it's actually better without the music; realism vs idealism :-) Thanks anyway!

  • why not put the cam on the shuttle or liquid tank so you can see the whole trip instead of the 2 minute booster phase? thtupid!

  • the best way to die would be to cut your line on a space walk and re-enter orbit by yourself.. it be like "look its a shooting star!!" nope that billy-bob

  • i think at 1:54-55 you can actually see the white dot of the space shuttle flying away

  • landing site is cape canaveral

  • That black, empty space is a bit creepy for me o_0

No oxygen, only sun and about 400C degree ... Very unfriendly enviroment for human.

  • Yep, better to stay on earth...

  • O.o

in two minutes they go from sea level to nearly space.... you have to respect teh powah of teh rockets :D

  • You have to respect their authoritiy!

  • So, what body of water did it land in?

  • Nice video. Gay music.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • i've been looking for this clip for 2 years lmaoo. finaly found againt !!!!!! YAAAAAAAA

  • Comment removed

  • 10 stars

  • Can someone tell me the name of the last music?

  • Nice!

  • What can I say... thats amazing....

  • that is both beautiful and terrifying at the same time.

  • good video, the music went really well with the stages of lift off till the boosters landing in the sea!! 5*

  • great video. i haven't heard that song since i had an apartment with a raver buddy, lol.

  • whats the title of the opera song when the booster is ejected?

  • a successful splashdown. :-)

  • BEST VIDEO ON YOUTUBE

  • amazing :)

  • aaaaww i feel sorry for the tank, i feel you bud:(

  • this cant be real it would have burned up in the atmosphere ...right?.

  • The boosters dont burn up because when they detatch they're not high enough. They fall and are recovered in the ocean. Only the tank burns up because only it is detatched so high up

  • technically, it's not the height that causes the burnup. it is the friction with air, and frictional coefficient increases as speed increases. at srb sep, shuttle velocity just under 3,000mph. mec (main engine cutoff) occurs at a speed around 18,000mph. external tank has a velocity six times that of srbs as it re-enters atmosphere, and that is why the srbs survive while the tank does not.

  • lol this isnt some silly UFO vid, this is real.

  • o yea Daft Punk rocks!!! and freakin woottacular video too man!

  • fantastic,love...;]]

  • Amazing.

  • WOW!

Seemed like I am one of the passengers:)

    Amazing...job well done...

  • Beautiful.

  • absolutely amazing footage

  • Very very good!

  • I love how the whole rocket flexes at the beginning, then once it comes back they lift off. Very nice

  • Oh wow. That was cool =D

  • amazing got me turnin my head wen it was doin flips lol

  • Pretty breath taking. To think that I know the pilot of that mission. It's cool to see the launch from that perspective.

    Bravo!!!!!

  • man thats so fu**ing cool just the begining and the hole movie!! the force o the rockets and the good music!! ahh just sweet!!

  • excellently done thank you ,the rolls on the way down danced to the music well : )

  • that is amazing i am just 13 years old and i want to go to space!! when i goorw up i am going to go study to the space center to become an astronaut but i would need to study math and fisics a lot because i am not very good at them

  • and spelling too, I think it would help you out as well... I think... anyways here's for you: physics...

hu only one word mispelled, cause I'm pretty sure you know how to spell "grow"

anyways I was only trying to help out... :D

  • Dude, u need 2 get a tuned pipe. Adds speed and makes it way louder. There only like $30-40 and after i got my pipe it started poppin wheelys

  • that was amazing!! i wana go 2 space!!

  • how good is this video, it goes out in space and back to earth just like its nothing special, crazyy shit

  • A feel sorry for any fish that was near where the SRB crashed.

"Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimm-" *SPLASH* "WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT!!"

  • This is just amazing.

  • Great music change perfectly timed at SRB Sep. And the launch roll really looks awesome from this angle. Well done.

  • fake?

  • ???WHAT...lol

  • no its not fake, you are though..

  • stupid fool....

  • I assume you cut this footage? The SRB's separated way too early...

  • Bit like life isent it, starts off great when your young then you lose all control and plummet to your death.. hahaha kidding,. fantastic video, love the music choice

  • When the Challenger disintegrated, they say the astronauts were conscious on the way down since the cabin broke away largely intact. So I guess what you see here is much like what they saw coming down, except without a parachute opening at the last moment.

  • On the "When we Left Earth" documentary, they states that the astronauts probably experienced too much forces when the vehicle exploded. They believe that the astronauts were alive, but they were unconscious on the way down.

  • awesome!

  • Just liltle question, wouldn't the camera get way overheated when putted on a rocket ? I dont wana be a jurk but i dont believe this is real. Anyhow its nice video.

  • It's only hot down below the nozels. As the shuttle ascends the temperature actually gets colder. It's a rate of about 3 degrees per 1,000 feet.

  • Are the sound effects real? Yes! Also the music is played live. Several members of the orchestra did have to be treated for exposure but are recovering well.

  • no they arn't

  • brilliantly done, the video that is musick n that

  • Wow! What a ride!!!

  • audio on back sucks

  • Brilliant video.

  • Awsome vid!! Great Editing with the music and sounds of the video. wow!! Best on U-tube for me!!

  • Wow, I wish I could do that.

  • nice video, the sound of explode it is real ? and the sound of splashing water ? Is it is real, is excelent vid !

  • nice vid

  • This video has been selected by our channel as one of the Most Amazing Videos in Youtube. Thanks for uploading.

    Regards,

    bestofYTchannel

  • at 3:21 you can see it hit the atmosphere again and start to burn up

  • Actually, the SRBs never leave the atmosphere or burn-up. At the 3:21 mark, the booster releases it's drogue chute, which causes some unburned propellant to shake free and hit the airstream.

  • can i have some retard terms please?

  • truly amazing!!! good choice of music, too...

  • LOVE IT

  • That's the best roller coaster ride I've seen in a long time.

I wonder when disney world will have it up and running>> lol

  • Some interesting facts: The SRBs jettison at about 150,000 feet. They also provide 6.6 millions lbs of thrust, which is 70% of the total needed to get the shuttle up into orbit. Ironically, if the shuttle did away with the external tank and the main engines it feeds, the SRBs alone would do the job, and both shuttle disasters would have been avoided as both related to the external fuel tank, which, as it turns out, doesn't even carry it's own weight. Great video.

  • are they going to take it back or just let it in the ocean.....?

  • They will take it back and use it for another launch.

  • Truly awesome. The music fits perfectly too...a high res version of this on my lcd projector at home, that's my new ambition as of this moment, with the sound craked right up!

  • That was some cool footage

  • sweet.

  • BLODDY FANTASTIC LOL!

  • Very good movie! Very cool when the rocket separates from the discovery shuttle and going down to earth!

  • DAFT PUNK!!

  • Rather fine video, thanx for this m8.

  • Hey people, could you help me someone?

It's making me mad, that I can not find the name of the aria or opera what is in this video. It begins at 1:50 and if there is someone who knows that opera, please be so kind and reply to my comment. Thanks and really interesting video indeed. :)

  • The music you like is The Flower Duet From Lakme by Leo Delibes. Glad you enjoyed the video.

  • Thanks man:D

At last I found here on youtube someone nice, not only people who argue about stupidities:))) Thanks a lot, I am enjoying Lakme at the moment....:D

  • check the soundtrack for a movie called 'true romance' ( christian slater + every other actor known to man )

  • Would be nice if there was a few numbers in the corner indicating altitude, anyway cool

  • i'm giddy

  • Oh my god that's amazing

  • This is just totally amazing.

  • great video does anyone know who performs the second song? (the opera)

  • Daft Punk - Around the World

(im not sure who does the original) but this is the daft punk version

  • WOW!!! that was f**king amazing!

  • That was an happy trip but first music wasnt so good second was nice.

  • I thought the music was well thought out,fit the various segments of the SRB's life.I would have opted for something more high octane during the lift-off till seperation, some heavy Led Zep such as Achilles Last Stand or Communication Breakdown would have worked real well.......

  • good vid-but the music is driving me nuts!

  • At like 3:50 you cut out a major part, it skips from showing the sky to showing the ocean close up

  • you didn't miss anything.

  • If there is a cut (which I'm not convinced there is) then it is in the original NASA video.

  • the footage is great, the soundtrack is annoying

  • omg that was so cool but i wish they would take the cameras into space...but its against NASA to do that which sucks they kant release any footage of real space.....

  • check for IMAX-Space Station...its all there!

  • there's a camera or two on the ET, as well as on-orbit footage from the ISS and shuttle on NASA-TV. That's what i use for my vids. :)

  • WICKED!

  • Really awesome!

  • tight. great.

  • I wanna go to =*(

  • This is the mission that had the diaper wearing nutcase on it, well she was sane then.

  • Track sound if good!!!

  • Way cool

  • i've got to buy me one of this

  • Just...awesome...
