I missed who the conductor was... at this point I am not impressed terribly but it is live so I will reserve judgment as live venues can be challenging for the best. Even with lots of rehearsals -- and you never know how the sound crew is going to perform! I'm a musician and I've been on all sides of this except conducting (singing, playing an instrument, setting up mic's, running sound board) so.... Once you get 1,000 bodies in the room the acoustics change and it's hard to adjust.
Of course he could. His rach 3 in particular. At the level of great pianists it's a matter of personal taste and trying to appreciate each for their individual style: For example: I I got drawn to Uchida through her Debussy, Lupu through Brahms and Richter through Rachmaninoff. Now I pretty much understand whatever they play or played R.I.P. Svialoslav.
Shush about the Lady Gaga comments, the Justin Bieber comments, the Ray William Johnson comments, everything. This piece deserves more than that. You trolls.
@pamelitaromeroful You can stop being such an american idol judge wannabie and assuming such narrow judgements and accept the fact that I defined good as absolute respect. Cheers.

@123eldest I'm guessing it's cuz the second half wasn't in the 'suggestions' part. I couldn't find it. I had to go to his account and search through all his videos for it xD
@123eldest simply because there isn't this clip on the suggestions next right away. so to put it another way, not many people really care for the rest of this movement, thinking they've already had an orgasm)

High quality video. What a privilege such an artist perform with a solid talented orchestra behind him. With its problems are age is blessed with this technical ability to bridge the gap between performance and the audience beyond the concert hall.
I love kissin, because of his ability to be direct in what emotions he is using in his music. They notes and melodies are intense, yet you can feel exactly what he is feeling.
I will always love the first movement in this concerto because it's so dramatic! But I think I like this song played slower, because it feels like all the emotion is drawn out if played that way. Still good though!
Wonderful playing but by no means the best I've heard for this concerto. Kissin goes overboard with the incessant ritardandos, and the orchestra didn't seem to quite "have it".
i just LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!!!! it brings tears to my eyes !!!! ooo god i hope one day can play like this!!! like like like LIKE!!!!!
I'm not to sure it's a tradition, or at least an approved one. Far too many audiences think the "Triumphant" ending of the 3rd mvnt of Tchaikovsky 6th is a finale so they clap and get up to leave.
Orchestras shouldn't be to anal about clapping between movements for the most part. Audiences that have fun tend to come back!
Haha, forgive me for my violinistic ways, but to me, I really sorta feel like this is the Sibelius Concerto of piano concertos. Amazingly beautiful and hauntingly expressive...

Because the title of the first one is:

this slight difference makes it harder to appear in the collumn on the right. Also harder to find for some people
