I understand what you are saying-and it is true-you can't beat Buddy,but what I haven't mentioned before,is that I am a musician myself and made what I thought was a good arrangement of this song,as a slow bluesy version.It always seemed to go down well when I performed it;and some of my fellow musicians have performed my version

I agree with @9641roger. A cover isn't about imitation. It's about tribute and giving a song your own style. That way, it shows the artist's personality and you aren't listening to the same exact version of the song.

Why don't people get the idea of different people covering Buddy's songs? I am now 70 years old and have been a fan of his since the start and was lucky enough to see him on his only tour of UK;his voice and style was, and still is,unique.So what is the point of trying to imitate him?

The album that this song is off of is spot on both rhythm and lyrics wise. The other tribute album that came out this year was a good album but it didnt sound like Buddy's music anymore whereas this IS Buddy's influence on younger generations. Happy Birthday Buddy and Rave On!!!
