I love both versions. The cure of course created this masterpiece, but Death Cab does what all covers should do - a balance of the original song with a touch of the covering bands' tonality and flavor. This version plays a wonderful tribute to the Cure and that's what we all want, isn't it? And as for that 311 cover? An abomination. Nuff said.

@dantesecondevangel I'm quite fond of Adele's cover of Lovesong actually. Her version is far more broken down and raw and the lyrics are beautifully highlighted because of her version's beautific simplicity. I haven't listened or heard of Voltaire but I think I'll check them out now. Thx for the tip :)

@bra187 Actually no they don't. And I think everyone has that shitty 311 version as their ring tone. The Cure's original version is just a masterpiece, and no matter who covers it, it will always sound good and addicting. 311 didn't get anything into the Hot 100 on Billboard Charts until this song, because it is music gold. The Cure it right the first time and I enjoy seeing other bands takes on it.
