I would love to see this brought to the PS vita... I was born in 1989 and can only faintly remember my brothers playing this game but I remember being scared of that monster that chases him :P Looks like one of them original classics.
i wonder when the heck is interplay going to re-released the snes version of out of this world on the wii virtual console and why they havent re-released the snes version of out of this world
At the time, I suspect adding cinema music to the game would make it flash. But now its clear to me anyway that feels cheezy and the overall silence of the original Amiga version only added realism and atmosphere.
I remember this game on the SNES. I recall it also being for the computer, but the SNES was better purely for the music XD Even if the game DID scare the crap out of me (stupid Shadow Beasts...
I remember playing this years ago, and my sister going into the red rooster convenience store, filling a slurpee, and saying to the clerk 'Alesta, Alesta...MatOOOba' and walking out, the cashier was speechless. It was classic.
@RazielCuts If you just start the game, you start out in the water. However, if you wait at the title screen, it'll eventually play the backstory....that is, if I remember correctly. I might be wrong.
ohhh, thats how you got past the monster in the beginning... i was so young when i played this, i couldnt figure it out and i gave up right at the beginning :( game left a permanent impression on me though (maybe why im here heh).
why dont they make games like this anymore? full of mystery and suspense...
this is quite impressive for an snes. this is more somthing you would see on sega cd or ps1 (heart of darkness)

is there any intro in the lab for the snes version or do you just start out in the water?
RazielCuts 2 years ago
NO My buddy, I just checked and effectively you have a lab intro before starting on that pool at the SNES version

Said to be the favorite game of ICO creator Fumito Ueda.
I can see why. And part of where he got his inspiration.
