Is the ICE T as efficent at getting passengers on time as the faster non tilting ICE 3? You would think it would even out as it can go around bends faster.

The ICE-T and ICE-TD is build to go fast on normal tracks so you cant compare them this way.

The ICE 1,2 and 3 are designed to go faster on High speed tracks but on normal curved tracks they are limited in speed.

Braunschweig - Berlin Zoo - vor 98... bin ich ganz oft gefahren... und es waren immer nur 40 Minuten... die Bahn hat sogar Werbung damit gemacht und überall Plakate aufgehängt. Brauchst mir ja nich glauben (-:

Du kannst mir viel erzählen, aber Zoo-Braunschweig in 40 Minuten ist schlichtweg nicht machbar, die Grenzen der Physik kann selbst der ICE nicht überwinden. Zoo-Braunschweig sind 209 Kilometer, die kann man nicht in 40 min zurücklegen, weil das ein Durchschnitt von 313,5 km/h wäre. Das ist schlicht und ergreifend unmöglich. Kannst ja nachmessen und nachrechnen. Zumal es vor 1998 die NBS Hannover-Berlin noch nicht gab. Das war damals absolut unmöglich und ist es noch heute NBS.

Sorry, that's bullshit, regular maximum speed on the high-speed line (Braunschweig--)Wolfsburg--Ber­lin is 250 kmh. Ages ago they did some 300 kmh + runs by ICE for test runs. On Ingolstadt--Nürnberg, you can speed up to a regular speed of 300 kmh. They also had some 300+ runs there, the ICE-S did some 330 kmh and the "Taurus"-loco reached a world record speed of 357.

And btw you do not have any tunnel on Braunschweig--Berlin line, so you can't hear this amazing sound :-D

I said USED to... before Enschede that is... back than Braunschweig - Berlin was 40 minutes.

The vilage is called Eschede.

Braunschweig--Berlin in 40 minutes, no chance. Braunschweig--Berlin-Spandau is 198 km, if you do it in 40 minutes, you need an average speed of 297 km/h! That's impossible, even with the ICE 3.

Furthermore, Eschede was in June 1998, Hannover-Berlin was opend up in September 1998. They never did there more than 250 kmh in regular service.

@inngglstoodt Also dass die Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung auf der Strecke Wolfsburg- Berlin bei 250 km/h liegt stimmt nicht so ganz. Ich bin im Sommer mit dem ICE 2 (!) diese Strecke nach Berlin gefahren. Die Höchstgeschwindigkeit lag bei 280 km/h. Mit einem 3er wäre das ganze wohl noch schneller gegangen.
