We cannot pick or choose fares. If we do that we can lose our authority, thats what's been taught at all Taxi schools now.

Not exactly funny, but what can I say? I am a cab driver. Why would anyone want a ride 3 blocks when they could walk? Our meters start at 3.75 here in my city, and we do have many cab drivers here who won't agree to take you until they know where you are going, and if they don't like the trip, they will just tell you they are not going that way. We have to do this in order to survive!

It's a 2 minute (maybe 5 if there's heavy traffic & a really old person going 10 km/miles under the speed limit)...so I doubt a taxi would be willing to drive me to the bus stop...
