@darth0nihilus1 It's not like there aren't lots of shuttle liftoffs on YouTube. This video is unique cool in that you have a closeup of the ignition. I like it. Cool stuff. Love the clouds of smoke & vapor.
The water (at :19) is released. This will supress the engines power on the concrete underneath. When the main engines start the intense heat causes the water vapor you see. At :33 you then see the darker color of the SRB exhaust.
@spacevidcast Absolutely agree. Oxygen and Hydrogen can't produce any smoke. Only water. But what I was talking about is that on this video you don't see anything, besides the smoke. Oops. ...I mean water vapor. :)
@wdmforrent1 That's not the point. Vapor or smoke. I just wanted to say that this video doesn't show anything, besides the clouds of whateever it is. Mostly vapor, as SRBs ignite few seconds later.

can you get high off that smoke?

@aurangzib It's essentially sulfuric acid in vapor form. You figure it out.

@darth0nihilus1 This is an engineering video. We have plenty other videos of this launch that aren't just stationary shots.

@syeager9 Water vapor. That's the enormous white cloud. Very little smoke is actually visible in this shot.

@syeager9 about half of that is smoke from the SRBs

@syeager9 It's more of an engineering video replay than anything else. Looking for anything out of the ordinary.
