This is Hafez poem with maestro Shajarian singing it. I am afraid this is so hard to translate. One verse of that says:

Hafez desires divine chalice and wine

Let' see what would be the heaven's will

Thanks a lot for putting this here! I just recently came across Persian TAR music, and then I discovered masters Shajarian and Lotfi. No words can express my admiration!!

...Really hope Iranians will know how to fix the situation in their country. All the crazy US and EU "freedom-loving" people are calling for "revolution" in Iran; but we Russians know the price you pay for revolutions. And in the neighboring Afghanistan you can see it, too. Somehow, it always serves the WRONG people.

This is just a heavenly song and you should indeed be very highly educated to understand what it means because it has a very gnostical and filosophical meaning.

I feel sorry for those who, simply, cannot understand their music, b/c the level of singing,technique, the poems chosen are at a VERY HIGH quality.And to the people who are constantly bashing the music after revolution, all I have to tell you is that, this type of music is not for everyone, the old music, was easy to understand, b/c the poems uses and techniques were very simple!! BUT THIS TAKES A LOT OF EDUCATION TO JUST UNDERSTAND IT!!!..if not, you wont have anything good to say about it!!!!

@piroozz thank you Piroozz... its funny mojassameh doesnt even understand the expression he wrote....my understanding is that its saying by adding 'wisdom and knowledge we can understand these sentences better' isnt that what I said!!!!!! ?? but again its a part of our culture to ignore wisdom, we dont understand the difference between 'education and wisdom' thats why our stupid parents did the revolution without any knowledge of this khomeiny guy and now we see with wisdom
