4 me this was the best time 4 letterman. most say the 80s on nbc but he went all out when he first started at cbs so he could prove that he still had it despite being at 11, and of course he had 2 beat big jaw. That's bc Conan admired the heck out of Letterman, as well as all the other talk-show hosts of this generation (like Stewart).

I've been watching Conan from the start, and it was pretty obvious he was taking alot of inspriation (though of course he still innovated) from Letterman, including his dry humor during the skits and self-depreciation.
