I love how the Quincy Jones sample sounds in this tune (2:12) compared to the original. I like to think that he didn't even modify the sample, but that it probably sounds that way because of the vinyl he used was old. MP3s don't get old...
despite the fact that i despise the french, DJ Cam being one of the few french i have the UTMOST respect for. pure class he is and gift he has for creating master pieces such as Dieu Reconnaitra Les Siens, Mental Invasion, etc.
Ok, so we've identified Dexter Wansel, Dee-Lite, Goldorak, Quincy Jones... but can someone PLEASE tell me what the sample is at 1:30?! The fender rhodes and flute bit. It's been bugging me for the past 11 years!
WOW. I repeat fucking WOW!!!! This shit gives me such an experience. It reminds me of being younger and I mean much younger than when I first heard this 13 years ago. I hope I can find more music/vibes as soothing, transcendant and deja vu -ish as these. God bless DJ Cam.
This was the first DJ Cam piece I heard, in Pizza Hut of all places, about 10 years ago. A few weeks later I heard it in an internet café (before anybody sold broadband here). I immediately ran to the counter and asked what the track was... and am very glad that I did :)
