  • I feel exacly the same way.

  • amazing what can be fixed with a stupid fence..... foxes are beautiful creatures and so are prey animals. If u want ur birds to be safe, get a fence. We have hawks that swoop down and steal our chickens and the problem is now solves by putting a mesh cage aroud their coop...

  • @demon62692 Fencing the birds defeats the purpose of having free range self-feeding birds.

  • If you do have to do this, I think it ought to be done only as a extreme last resort and in a humane way as possible, if that's not a contradiction in terms.

  • 2) These animals are just trying to survive and feed thier families just like us humans. Yes, I've seen your vids on finding those baby foxes. Just lock up your pets. I'm so glad that you changed your view on killing foxes. Please, I do understand that these are your pets and you want to keep them safe.

  • 1) Its really sad that wild animals have to go into human surrounding to find food. Its not like they can walk into Alberson and buy food like we humans do. We take alot of thier territory and not realize the creatures hunting grounds are no more. When a wild animal kills another animal (pet or not) they get hunted.. When an animal kills a human(thinking its food) we hunt it and kill it. But when another human kills another human, we give them shelter, food, clothing and free dental/medicare.

  • @risquecat I appreciate your concern. The facts of the matter were the fox had more than ample food in the area. Rabbits, mice, sqirrels, grouse, garter snakes and frogs were profuse and clearly visible daily. The fox went after the easiest prey, which was my flock. Although I do not kill predators, I also understand that humans have a reasonable expectation that wild animals will not be allowed to hunt their animals when other food is more than available. It's not as if the fox had no choices.

  • sry not a multiple just multiple

  • i dont like the fact your killing a fox but i like the fact you killed 1 animal to save a multiple

  • @OlgaTheBrownFox If you get a moment, please watch my video called "Orphaned baby foxes". I thinnk you'll really enjoy it. :)

  • Well that is good to hear. There really isn't a good solution. The majority of mankind is just to scared of the wild for the wild to survive. I am not opposed to hunting far from it. Also, shot a few coons to keep them out of the chickens.

  • I don't know why you raised the kits. After all you will just have to kill them later. The best solution is to put the birds up at night. I understand your dilemma but it is really too bad as the Fox and the Bobcat are too often murdered for our comfort. I suppose as most of the population thinks like ididapoo this will never change.

  • @GreensongOakheart No I will not have to kill them later, or any other fox for that matter because I changed my views on killing foxes. The kits I raised were turned over to the Audubon Society. They finished raising them and released them into a safer environment where they can live their lives wild.

  • @GreensongOakheart I've had my birds taken in broad daylight by foxes, coyotes, bobcats, ect. I've had the predators break into the coop at night and steal the birds while sleeping too. I've lost at least 50 birds this year. They are free-ranging so some losses to predators are expected. The gun is a useful tool when needed. Sometimes the solution is not as simple as many people seem to think. Predators are amazingly smart.

  • @segarza I understand believe it or not. I have killed a few predators in my time to keep the chickens safe. Also, I locked up the chickens at night as well. Most I ever lost at one time was thirteen and that was a dog :-)

  • @GreensongOakheart Yep, me too. I think I've lost more birds to dogs than any other predator. I once lost 20 birds in one week due to the work of two coyotes working as a team and a lone Bobcat. I've never had to kill a predator so far, mainly due to my extreme fondness for all animals, but I have and do pop off several rounds to scare them off. I now have an electric fence which seems to be helping....a lot!

  • Protect your pets (family) do what you have to do, sorry Mr fox, and that goes for your cousin Mr Coyote.

  • You crack me up : )

  • Why couldnt you of built a fence? Or tired one of the tons of methods used for scaring it away... Killing an animal for doing what comes natural to it is senseless and cruel. And if you truly didnt want to kill it but were "forced too" why did you film this? Why not just do it, why did you have to brag about it?

Well, here comes hundreds of comments from hunters... cant wait...

  • @xTailsPrower I filmed this because my channel is about ALL aspects of living where I live. Many have called it a paradise. I wanted to show the reality & balance of what they consider paradise. If you see joy in my face or hear bragging in my voice, then you most definitely did not understand the video. I kill as the absolute last resort when all other means available to me are exhausted. Please take a moment to watch one other video of mine called "Orphaned baby foxes". I think you'll like it.

  • @Praxxus55712 Wow dude, you've got major problems. If I had a pet chicken and a fox ate it I'd say "That's nature" and move on, not form some retarded hatrid of an entire species which is doing nothing more than trying to live... I'm glad your pets were eaten, but not because I wish harm on them but because they'll continue the cycle of life and become worth something.

Natures not for children with a boner for death to toy with. Learn that.

  • @xTailsPrower Whether people agree or disagree with my decision to live my life as I see fit, their comments are welcomed and their opinions are respected. When someone posts comments such as yours, which are absolutely nothing more than ignorance sprinkled with a light frosting of stupidity, I block them and remove their comments. Yours fits that criteria.

ps: In your stupidity, you failed to notice the attached video reply where I actually find and raise baby foxes.

  • @xTailsPrower A fox will get through the fence and a fence for all those animals is impractical. A live trap for fox works really well though if you ever have the problem again. Works really great with Racoons as they are always up while your asleep. Traps are way more effective as you almost never have the gun when you need it anyway. I personally don't like hunting fox as I really enjoy seeing them in the wild plus they eat too much rotting meat so i wont eat them myself.

  • @xTailsPrower fuck foxes killed my 2 ducks and 2 chickens which i only had for 2 weeks, i wont them all to burn in hell

  • @ididapoo You jelly? The Fox is Smarter than you could ever be, also Killing this animal is redic, build a damn fence or put out some left overs for it, he's only hungry.

  • Comment removed

  • are those your only guns? with land like that i think its time to invest in a couple of semi autos, .308 bolt actions, targets & things of that nature. also dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, planes, etc. but hey thats just my style. I too would like to have more land than i can could possibly search through

  • Killing is a part of nature and country living. Dont feel bad.

  • what do you have birds for if you don't eat them?

  • @onyisraw2009 They're pets and I eat the eggs.

  • @onyisraw2009

    I think you're adorable! ;-)

  • @onyisraw2009

    I think you're adorable! ;-) i laugh every-time...lol

  • seriously, your life seems really amazing. I wish my life was cool like yours :(

  • Just read the comments and realized that you already killed the cute little guy. May he rest in peace.

  • @Cairokmt The fox that year was extremely destructive. I tried not to have to kill it but unfortunately sometimes things get all crappy. BUT, the good side is I rescued three of it's grandbabies when their mom got eaten by a pack of coyotes. I made a video of them. It doesn't make up for killing such a perfect creature but it did give me a huge healthy respect for what an amazing and affectionate creature the fox is. ps: Haven't killed one since. :)

  • I enjoy your videos, but killing a fox??? Could there be another solution? Fencing, or something else? I am not trying to offend you, because I enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from you. Of course, I am sorry that you lost your pets. I guess I am saddened by this because my friend has a pet fox. It is so sweet and playful, just like a puppy. He is so affectionate and smart. He even knows a few tricks. I hope you find another solution. Either way, good luck.

  • what was the beginning song

  • @FishingNinja1 It's Wild Child by Enya. :)

  • fair enough, its a hard decision. does fox meat taste any good if you decided to eat it?

  • @BluSUBsound I've never tasted it. People eat them?? wow.

  • i dont blame you.

  • Funny commenting throughout your video.

If I were you, I would tie down that wanna be bad-ass turkey down and use him as bait for the fox.

Question, did you skin the fox and use his fur for anything?

  • Td84, I'm a decent shot but not a great shot and the fox is seriously fast. It took 8 shots of the .22 and I hate to say it, 3 shots of the shotgun to end it's life. It was an ugly mess. I buried it and called it a day.

ps: "Wanna be bad-ass" turkey. LOL That cracked me up. :)

  • I'd honestly of rather baited it into a large pet carrier and relocated it.. But that's just me.

  • AquaDragon, I bought a live trap just for that purpose but was told that in Minnesota it's illegal to relocate predatory wild animals. That's just totally nuts isn't it? I could have placed the fox in a cool wild area with no people for miles, but risked going to jail and being fined to death. It's too bad too because they're such beautiful and intelligent animals. :(

  • Awh.. Well I'm glad it was at least considered. There should be acceptions to that law, definitely. Like in this situation.

  • Yeah I only use the gun as the last resort. I hate the feel, sound and need for it. I even seriously thought about setting out bowls of dogfood to try to deflect the fox's attention. OH! when a bird dies of attack, old age etc, I carry it to the front of my property....about 1/4 mile from my house and set it in a clearing to feed the fox or any other meat eater. It seems to keep the fox away from my house for awhile. No sense in wasting a dead bird. :)

  • Yeah taking a life should never be a very pleasent feeling even if its the life of a small animal..

Thats actually a pretty good idea. The birds death contributes to something that way.

  • Hi Ray,

did you ever have any problems with other predators like a marten or weasel taking on your birds?

I've seen the aftermath of a weasel or marten attack on ducks, killing 4 out of 5 ducks of a former friend of mine.

That last surviving duck was completely out of it's mind when we showed up...i mean it was in complete shock..

    Not so nice, believe me....

    Joe from Germany

  • Yep Joe, I had a pine marten attacking for one year. It was really creepy cuz it wouldn't eat the bird. It would kill them, drink the blood and take the heads. I would find headless birds in the yard in the mornings. THAT is just plain spooky!

  • i love the sound the young chickens are making.

  • Lmao *wipes forehead* seen this vid twice. Its so funny you said dam turkey pussy. LMAO... turkey scared of Mr. Fox. Hehe who called you a treehugger?

  • I mentioned last year that I don't allow hunting on my property, which is why I have tons of deer waltzing through my yard at all times of the day. Someone replied that I must be a tree hugging hippy because hunting is what Americans enjoy...blah blah blah. Actually, contrary to being a tree hugger, while filming this video, I was sitting on a 100 year old oak tree that I chopped down. Holy cow it makes a loud sound when those trees hit the ground! lol

  • Lmfao, Ray hehe the turkeys remind me of my cats. Lmao!! Kill the fox!! im on team Praxxus

  • u made me laugh this morning thanks

  • heheheheheehe the turkeys are so funny. LOL I laughed all the way through it.

  • We had wild turkeys in my suburban neighborhood ( Edison, New Jersey ) last year. There was a momma turkey and 5 little downy chicks walking around the neighborhood. One of the chicks was a lot smaller than the others. That little runt was my favorite, but after a few weeks I noticed that there were only 4 chicks following Mom around.:( I guess the little one didn't make it ( I saw a coyote around the neighborhood around the same time, so I always wondered if the coyote was to blame ).

  • Cats will snag a baby turkey too. We had two wild female turkeys walk to the edge of my yard a few weeks ago with their babies. It was so cute. Two momma birds and about 12 total babies. My male turkey ran to them (what a surprise, a horny male running after two single females) and they took off pronto. Those babies can MOVE. lol

  • a fox killed my chicken last night.

    i got so upset.

i saw it drag her away as i ran outside.

  • good for u

  • Funny vid.!. .. and yes, you should do a video on tanning that foxes hide, that way it wont be wasted....

  • I'm with you, if I shoot something I want to eat it (unless its a burgler), I duck hunt but will not kill just to kill. I will shoot if it is a problem, I had to take out a woodchuck a couple weeks ago becuase he has undermined a 120+ foot pine tree within falling distance of my neighbor's house. Just hope for a clean hit so it wont suffer, and maybe you can do video on tanning a fox hide 101. good luck

  • The 12 gauge is awesome at longer range with slugs and buckshot. It's effective to 65 yards.

There are slug barrels available for the Winchester. Get one with a smooth bore and rifle sights then you can mix buck and slug rounds. That's some ordanance delivery.

The .22 long rifle is really only accurate to 40 yards. That's olympic range for a .22 rimfire.

The best weapon for your situation is a 9mm carbine. Hi point makes one that's not much coin. It's semiauto, has good power.

  • Hi Augustus! I had to find a lightweight rifle since a heavy one would be hard for me to hold and balance while shooting. I tried to counter the smaller lighter rifle by buying the best bullets I coould find.

"Stingers" are pretty sweet because they pack a bigger punch because they have a larger powder chamber as well as hollow points. I didn't know they even made hollow points for a 22. I'm HOPING this will mean they'll zip faster and straighter and flatten out on impact. I'll let ya know.

  • The hi point carbine is tiny. The same size as your .22. Ruger also makes the mini-14 in .223 which is also tiny.

The winchester shotgun can shoot slugs as is. If it has interchangeable choke tubes choose an improved clyinder tube. There are stick on adjustable sights for shotguns available everywhere.

There are high velocity .22 rimfire ammo available. Remington makes a round called the "yellow jacket". Even so the .22 rimfire doesn't have the juice to be acuurate consistantly over 40 yds

  • ages since we spoke dude lol, the depresion got a hold of me you understand? but better now. we were talking about foxes at work, they're nice but they're stupid as hell, they don't kill as many birds as they need to survive but they kill them all, its a wonder theres any foxes left as what in their brains tells them to kill all of their food source in one hit... stupid buggers lol.

also i like those guns but no assault rifle which would help killing it, a scope and alot of bullets= dead fox

  • Hiya Stuart! Good to see you're doing ok. :)

I hunted the fox's den the other year and I was shocked at what I found. Outside his/her den was parts of dead guineas and chickens. Mostly feet and tons of feathers and some bones. Holy crap it REEKED like 5 levels of death!! They are disgustingly messy eaters and keepers of a den. lol

  • well not ok really 3 of my friends hate me now but that was like 2 months ago and i'm over it.

hmm to clean it up why not go to the den and pour some petrol/kerosine down the hole and around in and chuck a flaming stick at it from a distance. then the bones and stuff would all burn away.

  • The one reason I can think of just off the top of my head is....FOREST FIRE? LOL

  • well sorry lol i've just been reading the last ever episodes of the manga hellsing i showed you ages ago and it involves someone letting a fire burn out a zepplin to burn it all away until there is nothing left... god i love hellsing with the vampires and the nazi vampires... especially the nazi vampires some of them are really cool

  • here's my plan.

you take the shotgun, shoot the fucker, I'll take my hijacked bobcat and run it over.

    bwaha xD

  • That fox could outrun the skid steer even with one leg left. LOL.

  • oh yess after you shoot it in the head its easy for the fox to get away. :P

  • It looks like you have no choice.I have one that shows up now and than but there are so many dogs and humans around he stays out of trouble. I rarely see them.

  • Yeah they don't like busy areas or areas where things get moved. I take the dogs along the entire perimeter of the 4-5 acre clearing each day so they can mark the area. It seems to slow him down. :)

  • I would shoot that fox too, that mother fudger

  • It's a shame you have to shoot the fox but I understand your predicament. There's several that go through my yard from time to time but since I don't have any small livestock they don't present a problem. I worry about my cats a little but when I look online the consensus seems to be that they don't bother full grown cats. I have an occasional hawk too. A couple of times I've seen a group of crows physically escort a hawk away from here while taking turns swooping down and pecking at it.

  • 3CoolKats, I guess cats are a bit tricky for a fox to catch since they're lightning fast and can scale a tree or fence instantly. It would really suck if one of your cats was lost like that. Let's just not think about that.

Yeah I wish crows would hang around here more. They go after any hawke or eagle that approcaches. I think I just need younger faster dogs. All mine are ancient and pretty much on their way out.

Foxes are beautiful animals though, I must admit.
