i respect the scotish and there weapon of war... it scared the shit ot of any enemy, including the English! the scots stood there ground... it's there way of saying "fuck you" or/and "come on lads" i guess :-) great instrument, it make me feel home sick and i'm english and live in switzerland :-)

These pipes are Scottish small pipes in A, I play them and they have a haunting sound

The third tune is a 9/8, two parts jig, and named "Welcome the piper",it can be found in Scots guards standard settings of pipe music, volume 2, page 151, tune n° 763

@hthedog It is bagpipes - not the "great highland bagpipes" but nonetheless bagpipes, although without the drones of the GHB . Probably Scottish smallpipes, or border pipes . t I don't think they are Northumbrian pipes.

@MsToughcookies Yes, that is what I was told by my mother a few years ago. I don't see a reason why she would lie to me. She has done extensive research into our family heritage for years. She traced one line back to Scotland with the name of de Brus. I would like to find it myself and double check her work just to be certain. I would feel a fool to find out the contrary. Another family line showed us that we had the same roots as nazi architect Albert Speer. Not too proud of that however.
