Her vibrato is the size of Texas. Everything is out of tune. I can hear all of her bow changes. Why does she have to play portato when it is marked legato? Shitty violinist.

Sarah chang is like says yehudi menuhin in a interwiew !!! one of the most players violin on the sotry of the earth!!!! isnt just his form to play also her expression for the music is complely original and thats the point
this is the most beautiful rendition of dvoraks violin concerto i have ever heard in my 20 years of violin playing. 1:41-1:53 is the most majestic phrase ever.
this woman doesn't play....... she sings! do you watch her facial expressions!? She moves with the music-- in more ways than one!!! It's just great to watch!!! I mean, one can just tell that she loves what she does!!!
Thanks for uploading this, I only recently begun dabbling into Dvorak with his symphony no.9 (massively recommended to any who don't yet know it) and this is just what Youtube is perfect for - more dabbling and experimentation. Fabulous vid
Sarah Chang is absolutely amazing. I am currently playing the violin and when I have samll recitals or big concerts I hve to listen to Sarah Chang playing the violin by my MP3 or else I make huge mistakes and can't concentrate!!! Sarah makes music come alive!!!!
So many people on YouTube have wanted to buy the Proms stuff. I'm sure it'll all be available one day. Anyway, it's only a matter of time before it'll turn up on a bit torrent site!!!
why cant the american t.v. stations have stuff like this on the air? its not fair...if they can have mtv and bet, why can a classical station be aired where they show concerts and documentairies of composers. oh, when i mean classical in general, neoclassical as well. its not fair!
sadly, that because the masses of people in (not only) the US nowadays simply have no culture, Horowitz was absolutely correct when he said "this country is sinking" in 'The Last Romantic' documentary about him - you can find it posted by opus3863a on YouTube.
some countries and ethnicities have more "culture" than others, i.e. try to attend some of the well known international music competitions, i.e. Chopin's in Warsaw or Tchaikovsky's in Moscow and see for yourself what countries/continents have the most participants and biggest percentage of winners, you'll quickly see a pattern...
even though measuring music skills alone might not be enough to make such a conclusion, I'd still say yes for the overall average of young generation. You might then also look at other factors, such as rates of violent crime, quality of public education, etc.
there's a lot more to culture than just international music competitions. actually international music competitions are an important part of culture but only a very very small part of what could be called "culture"... I think that you imply that
"culture" is exclusive only to certain countries namely in europe, and that can't be right.
absolutely wonderful. do you know if this recording of the concert can be purchased? I would really like to add this one to my collection. thank you so much for posting it!
I love how Sarah Chang really goes for the big gestures. She is so extremely focused that all of her ideas come out in a very brilliant way. I love to watch her play.
ugh. her recording of this piece a long time ago. but this is notrocious compared to how she played in the recording. the first mvmt and last movement quite unmusical
Venegrov is all just facial expression. Sarah chang not only show expressions in her face but also in her body movements...thats something Venegrov lacks.

Too bad she has to be worrying about make the orchestra follow the pace, she'd have taken better advantage if they could accompany her themselves u.u
