  • I followed blindly, farted a lot.

    Hehe ;)

  • My friend and a world wide know record collector Ari Heino (RIP) liked a lot this first record by the Dag Nasty. I like them all; "Leo is dead - it´s not the end of the world is a great sentence on Field Day album". The Ruts cover is also great. I like the guitarwork of Brian Biker, eh Baker a lot!

  • Seriously? Who gives a shit about what Pop Punk is? Just enjoy the fucking music and stop arguing you butt trumpet

  • who gives a shit what punk is. just listen to what the fuck you want to listen to.

  • my name is Dag :D

  • You guys really arguing about blink-182? Shut up.

  • me

    blink-182 > Dag Nasty

  • @rocketboy375 As much as i think Blink-182 are a decent band, Dag nasty is far greater.

  • @ChiCityx23 i beg to differ, bands like blink 182 are corporate punks

  • yes but in blinks case its no pop for popular it was pop for the poppy sound...

  • @moreharmony Which is ironic considering a poppy sound comes from music that is... POPular.

  • travis barkers tattoo led me here

  • @4FavreForever Same here xD

  • @4FavreForever me too dude :)

  • Cool ass bass, somehow I just realize now that it's obvious where GB got their sound :p

  • blink-182 are cool

  • Yeah, this is a dumb game, defining "punk," but it's worth keeping in mind that the early bands at CBGB included Talking Heads, Blondie, Johnny Thunders, the Cramps, Television... the bands in the early punk scene didn't all sound like the Pistols, Ramones, Buzzcocks, with the heavy guitars. See "The Decline of Western Civilization," and you'll understand much better what was going on. Watch the Devo videos from the 70s, hear the Weirdos and the Dils.

  • very romantic

  • blink was good circa 1995

  • @testnumberone1

    agreed

  • who the fuck cares what someone thinks or doesnt think is punk rock. to me its not a music genre. its an overall attitude in which can offspring into music. you can tell me whats punk or not. but idc. my opinion is the one that matters

  • arguing over what's punk and what's not punk, IS NOT PUNK! it's totally fucking lame and it's for 100% posers who don't know how to think for themselves. and about the comment "we need labels (it's how we accomplish anything.) please homie! do you think ian mackaye gives a fuck or accomplished anything based on if what you consider emo or not. trying to intellectualize labeling shit is lame. save it for the hot topic crowd. you're dealing with grown ups here.

  • you know what is not punk. arguing over it like a bunch of bitches!

  • catchy!

  • What can I say? Why should I try? I tried to love what I knew I hated I took a lie and I made a truth I defended what I should have denied I never gave a second thought I followed blindly part of a lot I never gave I never gave a second thought I followed blindly part of a lot How can I say I'm really free? How can I say I'm really me? What can I say?
  • @TylerWilliams1851 Blink suck

  • never heard of dag nasty before until today, amazing band.

also whys everyone talking about blink?

  • Quick note: New punk does exist, but like old punk it's not as well known. Many punk bands during the genre's creation ended up being indie (such as Minor Threat or Fugazi) - you just need to know where to look. As for labels, labels are important (it's how we accomplish anything). This is punk, emo to be exact. You may not like the music labelled as emo today, but it doesn't change the fact that this is still emo.

  • @ChiCityx23 Blink s not "pop punk" is pop

  • this is music, punk is just a label

  • this is hardcore. punk is slow

  • @ChiCityx23 lord please have people listen to dude ranch and none of the newer i miss you 182 garbage....

  • I am a big blink fan (own all the CDs and a few vinyls), but SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT BLINK IN A DAG NASTY VIDEO, LETS DISCUSS BANDS LIKE DAG NASTY AND THE BAND ITSELF, COMPARISONS OF BLINK AND DAG = FAIL

  • omg i cant believe this was considered emo in the 80's ahaha this is too good ahaha xD

  • @xXbrutal2juanXx Emo was created by Iain Mackaye of Minor Threat when he decided that hardcore shows were getting too violent and macho. So he started a new band... Fugazi. And emo was born. Its just sensitive hardcore. The fact it got taken and turned into some weird frankenstein pop for kids who like guitars is another matter.

  • @hxcteenagekicks yeah dude i know that i just cant believe it was THIS GOOD i mean look at emo now like bands THE NUMBER 12 LOOKS LIKE YOU there progressive emo its pretty annoying especially coming from this band soo yeah

  • @hxcteenagekicks You seriously have no idea what you're talking about at all. Rites of Spring (Brendan and Guy's band before Fugazi) and Embrace (Ian's band before Fugazi) were originators of the so called 'emo' bands. Either way, 'Emo' wasn't created by Ian as he hated that term and word as did the members of Rites of Spring. 'Emo' was just a stupid term created by some tool who wanted to put a word to something that couldn't be simply branded.

  • @DonStirFrye Either way you kind of agreed with me there, Ian had a large hand in the new sound and direction that some HC bands were taking which was a reaction to the rising violence of hardcore shows. It doesn't need to be branded, it is an offshoot of hardcore and people like Ian and his contemporaries had a clear idea of what they wanted to do. As far as i can see Emo is a relatively well fitting word, although theres plenty of other terms that fit too.

  • Punk is amazing,it will never die completly.even tho there is almost no real punk bands that are new,old punk is amazing

    SEX PISTOLS

    RAMONES

    DAG NASTY

  • Punk rock is amazing.punk will never die completly <33

  • Dave is my favorite singer for this band.

  • @ChiCityx23 That's not just my lingo. Pop music = Popular music.

  • @musiqqqqqq And the 'p' in punk came from pop as well.

  • @musiqqqqqq No, you idiot. Pop only refers to the structure and instrumentation of the music. Structure is Verse-Chorus-Verse and the instrumentation is usually simplistic, only using simple melodies and harmonies, no sonic or melodic experimentation. So, do some research before you state your stupid fallacies as fact.

  • @musiqqqqqq actually you are a bit wrong with that. look it up. pop is not for popular. well, not in a musicological sense.

  • @Kazel69 I did look it up, and not only on top of that I'm quite familiar with why pop music is called popular. Half my family is in the music industry whether it be recording, being a drum tech, sound guy, owning an instrument shop. It's not in a musicological sense, but it only came to be the way it is in musicological people it was an ongoing theme in the world of pop.

  • @ChiCityx23 you realize the pop in pop punk or any other pop music just is short for popular, right? Not trying to be a dick but since you put the " " around pop, I assume you think Blink aren't popular.

  • @musiqqqqqq POP DOESNT STAND FOR POPULAR U TURD IT STANDS FOR POP, COS IT IS POP AND PUNK

  • @TylerM4197 Wtf are you talking about? "Pop" is short for "popular" period. If you want to make a reference to popping you corn or your tart, call it something else. Pop-Punk stands for popular Punk and that's it. That's just the definition people made. If you want to define your own laguage call it "kerplonk" or whatever. Debating if some song is "punk" or not has nothing to do with it. There's black, there's white, but there are about 1'000'000 shades of gray.

  • @rocketboy375 lol I wouldn't say "always" be, bands can change styles.

  • I find it stupid how people just sit here and argue...Seriously, what's the point?

  • I saw this band at the old 9:30, had to be late 80s, early 90s. They played with Murphys Law. Freakin great times.

  • @rocketboy375 no. dude, no. Not always. No.

I'll give you maybe their punk background, but the crap like "stay together (for the kids)"? It's a Justin Bieber away from being more disposable pop bullshit.

  • i dont kno why but this singer reminds me of ian mckaye when he sung for minor threat

  • @victimizedsociety Because they played the same scene, Mackaye produced their records for Dischord, and Brian Baker played drums for both bands.

  • This is Melodic HardcOre!!!

  • alot of you may not like me of this but i am a blink fan (personal taste as a kid) if it wasnt for my blink roots i would never have researched "can i say" (barkers tat) so if i hadnt of done that i would never have found the beauty of day nasty as in New Zealand (where im from) we dont get much under ground american punk.. I know blink may not be punk hell i havent ever consisted blinks music true punk but i will go as far to say it might be a sub genre to punk. blink has its place in music

  • @clarkyboy13 pop punk

  • @PeluzhacOre I was talking about Blink.

  • @musiqqqqqq Actually I am a fan of blink, and I heard of Dag Nasty from friends, dont judge people because they listen to more than one style of music

  • Actually, I don't judge people for listening to more than one style of music. I'm almost positive I like more styles of music than you or any of your friends, or mates whatever YOU want to call em. So ya bro, learn to live with the fact that I can dislike other bands and not like the people who like those bands also cause I'm not the only who does it.

  • @musiqqqqqq I couldn't give a fuck who you dislike or like, I mean, why are you slagging off blink fans on a dag nasty song? Seems retarded. Whatever "bro"

  • @clarkyboy13 I don't think it's a big deal . I love Blink's old stuff.

  • @clarkyboy13 dude there aint no problem with that

    at least u found it

and blink is an amazin band

    overall

    great music taste :)

  • Actually I like Blink and Dag Nasty and I knew Dag Nasty wayyy before Blink

  • the only connection is that this is travis' favorite song/album. thats it.

  • gotta love that reverb

  • Pete Cortner the singer was my 6th grade history teacher. fucking. awesome.

  • Travis Barker is an amazing drummer. He has roots in hardcore, all the members of Blink do. Their early stuff (ie; 1994-1997) had a punk vibe. It wasn't hardcore but it was at least really fast. They went in a weird direction in the 2000's era but whatever. Everyone has their roots.

  • @robertdtfff hey people it's not only the sound that makes some genres of music ''hardcore'' or ''underground'' it's what is singing about ,band beliefs etc.

  • love this fucking scene, DC hardcore!

can someone tell me the relation between Dag Nasty and blink 182? what the fuck is going on?

  • Travis Barker has a tattoo that says "Can I Say" across his chest.

  • with this singer, there is a huge difference, but with the other singer it does kinda sound blink 182ish. but we all know they're nothing like blink 182 even with the other singer

  • @ratcunt999 Don't you mean sounds Dag Nastyish considering they were around first.

  • Yea they had great bands like nation of ulysses, rites of spring, embrace.

  • Everyone stfu. If someone says they like Blink and Dag Nasty don't give them shit for it. There's no reason to. We all know Dag Nasty is the better band.

  • dag nasty is fucking awsome blink sucks sorry just my opinion

  • Hahahah, around here don't say sorry. I wish Blink 182 fans would go fuck themselves cause the only reason they even come around my Dag Nasty videos is because of that faggot Travis Barker.

  • ok hahahaha.

    great videos by the way!!!!

  • this band is beast

  • im here to say that dag nasty rules!!! and so does travis and blink but thats not why im here. : )

  • awesome

  • Then get the fuck out.

  • yeah... get the fuck out

  • me

    dag nasty > blink 182

  • @canesrule96 punk > blink 182

  • @canesrule96

All day long. Fuck Blink 182.

  • fave song by them ever!
