Jose Gonzalez's singing voice reminds me a lot of Gilbert O'Sullivan, the Irish singer/songwriter, who had the 1972 hit..."Alone Again (Naturally)." Zero 7's music is very creative and pleasant to the ear, unlike most of the mainstream garbage sent out over the airwaves.

'60s rock and other genres that experimented with LSD, etc. (not saying all of them) can easily confuse people into thinking drugs are still needed to take music to the next level. Zero 7 is the perfect kind of music for chilling out to, sober or stoned. Simple Things Remixes is especially good when you're on a psychedelic. If you don't like drugs then nobody's forcing you to take them, but don't rip on what you don't understand.
