  • Amazing rifle !

  • Guns are for losers

  • its a very nice rifle, but my god is that thing bulky.

its light but it really is a BIG rifle.

  • the gun is perfect but the magazine can be larger though

  • i think the SCAR will be replacing the militarys m4

  • @AfKman101 About time lol

  • @Korijna yea, its been awhile with the m16 and m4 series

  • @AfKman101 says who?

  • if they improved that stock a little, it'd be so much more appealing to they eye. it just doesn't look like its big enough for the gun.

  • Beretta, a great paradox. Beautiful Italian design and performance but with higher-than-german-grade reliability. I think ARX-160 is a great candidate for the next standard US assault rifle but its chances are hurt by a lack of noticed use by US spec ops (Green Berets, SEALs, Force Recon, or a Para-rescue) or Law Enforcement.

  • All Beretta needs to do to in order to make butt loads of money on that product is look at how FNH fucked up the SCAR. Great rifle, but ALL THE FEATURES THAT MAKES IT WORTH $3000 IS GRANTED ONLY TO THE MILITARY!!!!!! Can't buy the different barrels to different sizes and calibers because they won't import them. FN got this military contract and are acting like HK, if you aren't holding a military contract, they don't give a flippy'd Flop about you the consumer.

  • Is the market for all these AR type rifles that big? I mean, I had about 4 at one time, but I don't see that much of civilian market with all the other competition. The only real advantage I saw over the SCAR is the quick change barrel, which is ultra handy.

  • @EnemyofGeorgia I think as with anything associated with the military, there will always a be a huge market that follows what ever the military adopts. Kinda like college football teams that buy what ever new gear the NFL uses. Look at Barret 50 cal rifles. The military uses them and civilians still pay $10,000 for them. The profits are in the DOD contracts. The civilian sales are just an extra perk.

  • @mixflip Good point, if Michael Schumacher (a F1 champion for the uninformed) buys a particular sports car, I am tempted to get one like it too because it's authority on a specific tool's preference aka why people buy HK MR556A1 after Bin Laden's death.

  • MADE IN ITALY .....ITALIAN POWER

  • Everyone has caught up with magpul and is now improving on their designs, however, we didn't see anything like the BAD lever on that gun, which is immensely practical. Has there ever been so much competition in the AR industry? Zombies don't stand a chance...

  • when does America get it!

  • "By the end of the year..." Last year they told Nutn that it was probably a matter of months...

  • I hope the world dose not end before us good-old boys can shoot it.

  • ok barreta just made colt, springfield,FN,HK, and magpul look like they had their boxers off the whole time

  • maybe they can add some more mag releases...... maybe make it a bit bigger too

  • If you look closly behind the guy, there is a MSR behind him.

  • it seems like all guns are made of plastic these days.. kinda sad. guns should be made of pelican semen; it was good enough for our forbears, it's good enough for us.

  • VIVA ITALIA

The Italians always mate form and function so perfectly!

    Thank you, Italy, once again.

Beautiful guns, beautiful cars, great food, and gorgeous women.

    Italy - the best!

  • @Search4diabetescure I agree Italy is very cool. I cant wait to visit Italy some day. My wife wants to visit the sights and I think I will plan some factory tours of Ferrari,Lamborghini and Beretta for me lol.

  • @Search4diabetescure Yeah..... more like crappy guns, overly expensive cars that like to break (like your guns), food thats only great in america, and hairy, big nosed, annoying women..... yeah dude, italy is awesome

  • @AregularGuy90 - Young Man, one day your taste in women will be refined.

  • @AregularGuy90 not when you live 10 min from miami lol... but that was a good comeback sir : )

  • @Search4diabetescure ..Mama Celeste and Fiat (Fix It Again Tony) are very sexy!!!

  • the problem i see with this is you would still have a beretta...*puke in mouth* *swallows*....

  • just wondering who would be interisted in buying these other than armies and police?, i mean can any 1 just come to this place and take a look?

  • @mcdudly00 The Beretta ARX160 is made strictly for the Italian Army at this time and its not imported to America. As he said in the video it should be coming soon though. As for shot show, its only for people in the shooting industry. Not open to the public.

  • @mixflip who told u that its not open to public? my buddy purchased a rifle at a gun show.

  • @tbilisicentralv2 Lol you obviously dont know what "Shot Show" in Las Vegas is do you? Its not a gun show.

  • @mixflip well, ok, sure thing, then dealers buy it, so everyone else can purchase them in their gun stores. but i wonder, i cant visit this Shot Show? and how different it is from arms expos, with tanks and aircraft?

  • @tbilisicentralv2 You can go. You just have to convince the trade show executives that you are a manufacturer, or retailer,or law enforcement, or military, or outdoor/firearms TV, internet or publication media??? Any one from these fields can go. Or you can see pretty much all of the same things at the NRA show that is open to the public.

  • @mixflip gotcha.

  • the charging handle looks a little small for my liking. other than that from what I have seen I'm impressed

  • love everthing but the stock hate hate hate the stock

  • FINALLY!

  • check out the mexican fx 05 rifle

  • Funcionally it looks to be the best new gen carbine yet,

very well thought out design, but man that's a bulky, big forend there!

If they put some regular mil spec stuff on it like an Insight laser and maybe some forend, it's gonna be like aiming with an especially heavy christmas tree.

  • Nice functional bit of kit.

PROBLEM, barrel changes like that are no good unless you are wearing gloves (during fighting). The US Army found that to it's cost in 'Nam with the M60.

  • @WatchRyder I dont think they designed the barrel change system to be changed in the middle of a fight. Its designed to be configured before a mission. If a soldier shows up to a bldg and need an SBR in 5.56 he can set it up in a few seconds and go. If the fight leads to open ranges he can change to 6.8spc or 300 blackout and a longer barrel for longer range fighting. No need to carry 2 guns in the support vehicle.

  • @mixflip who the fuck carries 3 ammo types? that requires bolt and mags too

but yes longer / shorter barrels i can see but remember weight counts ,body armor , ammo , water , IFAK , NVGs, boots, uniform, gloves, knife, secondary ie pistol , ammo for that , optics , maps ,MBITR radio with all its bull shit , eye wear , you get the idea now? plus maybe 80 more pounds of shit in your ruck , now i don't want to carry a extra barrel(s) plus a 203/320 grenade launcher added makes too much

  • @soldierZ28 that all said i still want one for the house

    thanks for the video

  • @soldierZ28 I think the barrels are intended to be kept at a support vehicle or base camp usually but I guess you could hump in with an extra barrel bolt and mags if the op saw a need for it? Not a grunts rifle Im assuming. More of a spec ops gun it seems. I dont think they built it for a hot swap of calibers in the middle of a fight but more for customizing before each mission? I could be wrong though since I am just guessing.

  • @mixflip

TRue man, but what I'm saying is it's not really good for a sustained fire role... :)

  • the ergos looks kind of ugly

cheekpiece, slimmer front end, AR grips and I can't think of anything else I could ask for.

  • The Scar and ACR look a lot better, but the ARX has better features, but damn its ugly.

  • it looks really heavy :/

  • @tenser626 6.6 to 6.8 lbs are numbers I've seen, depending on barrel lenght and chambering.

  • @tenser626 Actually its really light. I was surprised.

  • 5.56?

  • @JojoBarrientos The booth review shows the 5.56 military only version. The one we shoot at the beginning is the civilian 22LR version.

  • @mixflip Oh ok. it's a little hard to tell since the mags seem so similar in size.

  • another ridiculous priced rifle

  • "coming soon" is not soon enough

  • yea the ARX is nice but i wanna see it shoots. the scar is a pretty good AR.

  • @rodneydavine123 The SCAR takes STANAG magazines, but I don't think it's an AR.

  • I just think it's so weird that often the 'ugliest' (subjective term) rifles end up being the most reliable/best.....COUGH, AK-47/74....COUGH... and this thing is BUTT UGLY, and hear it's a DAMN FINE RIFLE, makes sense!! But honestly, the handguard is RIDICULOUS, I mean I know a lot of us like the slimline, and preferably user configurable,it just seem's massively TALL, can't tell it's width, but it sure is bulbous! Can't wait for it in U.S., get some competition(sub-$2000)for the ACR/SCAR!

  • isnt this a 22?

  • 4 me ... m4 ... all the way ...

  • I like the setup they're showing here though. HAMR scope, Lancer mag, Magpul back up sights.

  • I just think this weapon is so ugly lol. It just looks ridiculous to me, like a fat toy.

So I'm forcing myself to keep watching videos of it until i think it looks really cool, because it's actually such an excellent design.

  • My issues with this weapon are just that the handguard is ridiculously bulky and same for the mag well area. Also the stock looks flimsy.

Overall a really impressive design but I can't get over those aspects I just mentioned. It just looks like it would feel awkward. Maybe it's just because I'm more used to it, but the AR15 just has such a slim design that makes it excellent to operate and shoot quickly. ACR also has a nice design IMO despite being a bit more bulky overall.

  • Another piece of plastic that I can't afford...

  • the gun looks really cool but, the stock looks odd and only goes so far and the charging handle should of been in the front like: ACR or at the top from its position, like XM8

  • @AfKman101 The thing you mention are more of a preference and not a must have option. As for the charging handle all that matters is that the shooter no longer has to move his face off the buttstock to rack the bolt. Also with lights and laser up front the ACR's handle can actually get in the way. And on top is even worse for optics since most optics ride on top. Thats already a complaint with the SCARs handle when running an EoTech.

  • @mixflip if you were to put SCAR and the ARX160 at a face off what weapon would you choose based on these:

-Ease of reload and clearing jams/double feeds

    -Accessories mounting

    -Accuracy

    -Cleaning

  • @AfKman101 I'd have to actually shoot both to really give you a fair answer. I have shot the SCAR 17 and I only shot the 22 version of the ARX160 so its not really a fair comparison or fair test of both heads up. I'd say right now from what little experience do have of both I would have to give the edge to the ARX simply because of the barrel change, charging handle change and shell ejector change and fully ambidextrous mag release options. I love both and want to own both though.

  • @mixflip the ARX has 5.56 right? dose it have any other calibers aside from 5.56 and 22.

  • .308 would be awesome it'd stomp any AR10 on the market.

  • I am still waiting for this one to come out. Not the rimfire version either. A fully customizable, ambidextrous rifle that takes STANAG mag? What is not to like.

  • I'm diggin it!

  • the stock looks wack, but other than that awesome gun. But the stock does kinda make it look off balanced

  • @WitnessMELOx15

Think if Magpul could do a Massada / ACR style stock, that might work quite well...

  • @stupidismymiddlename yeah thats what i was thinking. Im telling you the stock is the only thing holding this weapon back.

  • The fore end is way too big.

  • @steellobster Bulky, plasticy and long for that kind of barrel length. RPM from what I understand is low! so low capability.... looks on the other hand is more like a mid 80's SCI FI(starship troopers) kinda look. Not saying starship trooper are from the 80's.

reminds me of the XM8 people thought it was cool looking.... But preform poorly

Speaking of the XM8... There very similar... The xm8 and ar180 huh

They have sci fi looks, long for a short barrel, 700 RPM and there 80 percent plastic.

  • @steellobster The XM8 returns as AR160. Trust me when I say it when beretta over played there hand on this one. P.S. the XM8 was shelved for a reason.

But then again I've never got my hand on it...... yet......... maybe....... maybe not

  • They called it the ARX-160, because it will be 160 months before civilians get there's. >:)

  • The A2 version (the sand-color one) derives by the particular oservation and needs of the Italian special forces, and has a couple of differencies. Both are in use in afghanistan altough in limited numers (for now) by infanry and special units.

  • Some info from Beretta's motherland about arx160's combat proveness.

The gun has long time ago passed the prototipe stage, the model showes at shot show 2011 and 2012 are probuction models.

The gun has been developed with the help af italian military and has been widely tested in a-stan, from wich experience came out the A1 version (the black one) currently adopted by some infantry units ad buyed in a first batch of 10000 rifles.

  • cool to look at but till its battel proven then all pass..+ not a fan of beretta

  • @LAZARUS6179 Well Beretta has been a battle proven firearms maker for decades and the fact that the Italian spec ops currently use this gun right now, I would assume its battle proven in Iraq or Afghanistan already?

  • @mixflip didn't know italy had troops in iraq?? and im just not a fan of beretta. and every weapons maker has to sell to some country for testing and feedback there will be failures just as in any new weapon. so why not give it to the italian's for when it dose brake

  • @mixflip "battle proven firearms maker for decades"? they have been making guns since 1526. they are the oldest active firearm manufacturer in the world!

  • @22steve5150 Yes decades, its plural.

  • @LAZARUS6179 They have already built and shipped 2000 of them to the Itilian SF. Plus, your comments like this sure dont encourage innovation. What if they told that to M. Kalashnikov when he showed off his AK rifle.

  • I like a lot of things about this. Especially the speed of the barrel change. Which means swapping out a 5.56 barrel to a 300 BLK barrel... That just puts a smile on my face. Now if only the thing was a little less ugly... lol.

  • @EscpdFrmPsykward Lol, I think its way better looking than the SCAR.

  • @mixflip Potential price point alone makes it more attractive than the SCAR. lol. ARX-160 is somewhere around $2000 MSRP. SCAR is still around $2500 retail. Screw that.

  • @EscpdFrmPsykward Wouldnt you have to re zero your optic if you change the barrel .>>>>?????

  • @fcuk4220 Probably.

  • @EscpdFrmPsykward barrel ? Because it take time re zero your optic after you change the barrel>?

  • хорош !!!

  • хорош !!!

  • this is awesome

  • Sweet!! Being a lefty thats really helpfull , thanks again , Mixflip

  • Going to start saving now, so i can get one of those.... lol sweet ..

  • God that's ugly as fuck

  • Outstanding look at the ARX-160! Thanks for such good early review.

  • @FateofDestinee Thanks Destinee. I didnt see you at the show? I thought for sure I would see you doing a booth review.

  • bulky, an Italian version of the XM

  • @kalif151byccrew Yeah it looks bulky but it felt lighter than the SCAR and ACR which to me is more important. I wish I could have gotten a look at whats under the handguards so I can better understand why its as thick as it is?

  • Damn, very nice!!

  • That rifle is sweet. Now why don't they make a .308 version instead of just making a .223 version.

  • @Livelifechill As with everything, variations will come in time. They dont want to blow their wad all at once.

  • Sold! If the price is right, that is...

  • reminds me of something outta aliens ;) nice vid...i'm curious what you think of AAC 300 BLK too (unrelated, i know)...cheers

  • @dlizzle I saw alot of 300 blackout guns at the show. Its the new hot caliber. I love the logic behind it and I hope it becomes huge and prices drop so I can get one.

  • Sweeeeet....

  • This has been looking like the most versatile rifle I've ever seen. Definitely has an emphasis on functionality and that's awesome. It looks funny to me though. Like one of those "fish guns", but looks don't mean squat and it actually looks kind of cool. Think I'll add this to my collection as my token "future gun".lol Hopefully it beats the Scar and ACR in terms of price. Otherwise I'll be sticking with my AK and AR.

  • M1A till I die, but Beretta has my attention.

  • that rail system looks too tall (too much space between the 12 and 6 o'clock rails) to get a great hold on the rifle.

  • Can't wait for it to come out but well see when it comes out cause the ACR was hyped for years ya know. If it lives up to the concept it'll blow the ACR and scar away. I had to chuckle at the remington ACR they did away with the quick detach and the folding stock and talked like its a feature.

  • @mrwhite4 Unlike the ACR the ARX160 was designed by a well established combat proven company. It is also already being used by the Italian special forces. Magpul should have went with Remington from day 1 instead of having Remington bail out the program 3 years after it was prototyped.Thats my opinion anyway. The ARX isnt perfect (no gun is) but its still packed with features the others just cant touch.

  • @mixflip Yeah very true I missed that it's actually in use right now. I want to like the ACR but I just can't you know, I mean it's made in America from an American company so I really want to like it but for my money I'd go with this by far. Remington/Bushmaster better up their game with the ACR because that rifle was like going out on a date with a hot woman then getting home and finding out she has a shlong. That's how much of a let down that gun is you know man.

  • Some cool features to this one!

  • @azdoc4 unbelievable feature really...changing barrels that fast, choosing left or right ejection and charging handle placement and fully ambidextrous controls is really truly next generation at its highest level.

  • Just looking at it, it's like a combination of the XM8, Masada/ACR, and FNSCAR.

A few obvious issues in this demo model: 1. Needs a flared magwell. 2. Ability to swap grips. 3. The top-rail is really high above the bore and the comb. 4. How does the foregrip handle heat during extended high rate of fire. 5. How's the trigger? 6. Dual ejection means dual ejectors and potential reliability issues. 7. Proprietary bolt/BCG design? 8. No dust cover, does select fire operate from a closed bolt?

  • @silvermediastudio All good observations I agree. Time will tell how they affect the gun and sales and interest for sure.

  • @mixflip Yeah...it is interesting to see such an advanced model nearly available to civilians before being directly marketed to major military. Shows a big emphasis on civ market. Something else I just noticed, he said you can shoot it with the stock folded, but it appears to cover up a portion of the right side ejection port, and forces you to use the left side selector switch and magazine release, plus that stock has no room for storage (batteries, cleaning kit, lube, etc).

  • @silvermediastudio It actually is marketed to the Italian Army which has already proven it in combat conditions in Iraq. Thats much more combat T&E than the ACR ever got before civilian release. As for batteries and cleaning gear, I agree just a few more tweaks and the gun could really blow away the competition.

  • I don't know it's cool but right now the tends is the C clamp style of shooting and it's to wide for that. Also lack the accessory market that the AR has. There is plenty to like but I would like to see the rail paired down in height.

  • nice looking gun dude. What is the weight of that bad boy? it looks beefy and heavy..

  • I'm in love

  • This definitely isn't for the Travis Haley/Chris Costa wannabes with the large handguard.

Also, I can totally see someone getting their finger smashed by accidentally releasing the bolt while pushing the charging handle to the other side.

Also, with the guy saying they want to bring it in under $2000 that it will probably come in closer to $2500.

  • The question is, how reliable is it?

and if it does take ar mags.

    its worthless.

  • MMEEAANN!

  • Even though this is a new rifle, It would awesome if our Military adopted this, I mean we're already using the Beretta M9. Anyways even though I probably can't own this rifle me being in CA, i'm excited for the rest of the country's chance to own the civilian variant when it comes. Thanks for the coverage man!

  • @Dtac25 Yeah, it would be awesome if we adopted some new system that hasn't been proven, has zero reliability data, probably minimal performance data, and there are likely no replacement parts readily available. Let's buy 200,000... what'll that be, about $300 mill of taxpayer money for something we don't need?

  • @silvermediastudio haha true, It was just a thought. Sorry if I seemed like a total idiot. Should have put more thought into my comment before I posted it. Lessons learned!

  • @silvermediastudio He did say its the A2 version currently used by the Italian special forces, not that it matters much...

  • @kushyushy420 Italian government is so corrupt, that means zilch to me.

  • AR mags?

  • Personally I think the CZ 805 BREN A1 is superior, but the ARX160 definitely is an impressive rifle!

  • Only thing I wish they would do is allow the operator to change the grip. Other than that I think its a great rifle.

  • Wow, this could be my next rifle . Sweet piece of engineering

  • Best part is its lighter than the rest out thier. They need to get these state side

  • Lots of cool features. For me, the thickness of the forend top to bottom (even thicker than the SCAR) would be an issue, and the grip looks tiny. If they make interchangeable backstraps that would be cool. Thanks for the vid.

  • I like a lot of the features (Barrel change, charging handle, mag releases) but the chassis looks like it's all one big piece of plastic, what happens when something gets cracked or damaged, can't replace it. Also, what if you don't like the pistol grip?

  • @FWalshingham I agree there are just minor changes I'd like to see but they are very minor like the pistol grip and magwell. Im sure small changes will be made in time. The SCAR and ACR have both had minor changes also. The ACR no longer has a folding stock for 2012 and the SCAR got a new stock design for 2012. Hopefully Beretta will do the same as far as small changes go. AS for the polymer chassis? I am not worried. But then again Im a Glock fan so polymer has my respect.

  • looks bulky

  • @MrAsundstrom I thought the same thing at first. All that changes when you hold it. I shot the rimfire version and it didnt feel bulky at all and its the exact same size as the centerfire version. Its the magwell area that gives it that bulky look. I'd like to see them make the magwell flared.
