  • The jumps seem too high for the arena they're competing in. :/

  • i might be going to this show :D

  • wow brianna had the worst judgement for that jump she shouldnt be making those kinda mistakes

  • Black Ice is such a beautiful horse

    hes my fave.

idk how these guys jump so high!!!

  • i like how much impulsion danielle torano's horse had. (6th rider)

  • Love number 5's ride

  • can i please use clips? they are great! <3

  • rider 2 needs to learn to slow it down. it costed her

  • They were all pretty

  • Wow, Margie Engel's mount looks like he had springs!

  • That's Brianne Goutal. She should know better than to rush that horse! She could have easily won if she had just slowed down a little.

  • @2.26 rider saws on horse's mouth. poor horse

  • Also to say the arena is a very confined space with not a lot of room so going too fast puts anyone at the disadvantage. The place to go fast is Spruce meadows where it is very spread out and the turns are not too tight.

  • The second rider was rushing the poor horse, but regardless the horse had very poor form. The gray mare was great despite her hesitation at teh first jump.

  • Ok All the people that are looking at the horses going too fast i totally agree and because theyre going faster theyre atarting to sit up wich makes them pull back on the reins wich makes the horse hesitate too much before the jump and knock down a rail.

  • at 3:06 that horse has a really weird canter. lol

  • @horselover3399 He was collecting before the jump.

  • @horselover3399- The horse was trying to rush and the rider slowed him down lol.

  • That horse "Black Ice" has a crazyyyyyy jump

  • Wow I would have not stopped hugging Saphire if she performed a lovely round like that for me. That first jump was scary yet really amazing. She seemed so calm, yet giving it her all.

  • mclain made it look easy for the other riders, lol

  • OMG I was there!! rider 2: sharp turn to jump #3 :(

  • OMG I was there!!

  • wish i could jump that high!

  • 1:30-

    wayyyy to fast!!

  • wait... did the horse bark at 3:27 ?

  • Briana went too fast

  • Margie Engle just won a grand prix nar me, and placed 1st, and 2nd :)

she has come a very far way.

    these riders all amaze me

    :)

  • it freezes for me at 3:09 :(

  • Man, for a big horse, Sapphire turns on a dime! Amazing riding here.

  • Jill Henslwood does not have a good enough seat for this level, her hands are insane, shes going to fast for the corners, the horse could falll, shes not a good rider. Needs to go back to beginner lessons and learn the basics of hands and not torture her horses

  • It's amazing how high these horses can jump!

It sometimes bothers me that the riders will hold their horse back sometimes though.

  • I love the first horse Sun Gold..what a jump!!!,,,effortless and floaty in the air !!!!

  • I can't BELIEVE that Ward got over that first jump!

  • WOW. that's all i have to say.

  • Even though they didnt, win I totally LOVe the second horse!!

  • Man that grey horse could have jumped the moon!! And that pinto jumped with her knees up to her chin! Love it!

  • Damn does henselwood saw on her horses mouth....... while also galloping it to fences... erm... did I miss something?

  • how do they keep their legs so still?!?!

  • WOW! how high are these jumpss?

  • WOW! how high are these jumpss?

  • omg love it

  • yaaaayyyy a pinto!!!

  • Onira's rider was making him go WAY to fast I bet his knees hurt when he hit the pole poor Onira

  • that second horse was going to fast and made him jump lower. probably hurt his knees with that one pole

  • that secod rider went wayy too fast and made their horse jump flat =/

  • Its a jump off, your meant to. They're top of the top of horses, and the riders know what they're doing, horses have special boots they wear at this level to stop them hurting their shinns and knees, also, the horses would go a hell of a lot faster if they could!

  • but did you see how much slower the others went and most of them didn't knock any rails but the fast one did.i understand it's a jump off, but there's a difference between fast and too fast

  • Ifrikking LOVE that paint!AGG I want it!

  • Jill rides with her hands..not shoulders..meliane smith would have a fit!

  • Yeah she is a very sloppy rider..good thing she has horses that make up for it..when it comes down to it...fast with rails falling isnt better than a slower round with no time or jump faults..i mean come on..after the first rail..your not going to win..your not going to be top 4...stop..take it easy..and ride the rest WELL the fact she just kept running around and got ANOTHER..says enough...

  • The second to last horse had a wonderful ride.

  • @Irp3rf3ct twas mclain ward!!!

  • Ugh Its kinda said, incredible jumping skill and all, but when is tight enough turns enough ya know? Their so rough on their mouths, see-sawing and such its really sad, I know I saw one or two horses that certainly werent pleased with the hard hands/harsh bit.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Quite the star-studded lineup.

  • Those jumps are big!

  • can i use a couple clips from this video in one of mine? thanks :)

  • i was there:)

  • the course must be terribly hard

  • Brianne Goutell sure has gotten sloppy! she used to be a BEAUTIFUL rider... hmmm...she should try to be more like Mclain Ward... he's an inspirational rider!

  • @RRhapsodylover i agree! her horse was really on the forehand too.

  • Todd Minikus and Pavarotti go through the course with style :) great horsemanship there :)

  • Sapphire is flippin' amazing. My favorite mare EVER.

  • Gotta agree with you there. I'm no fan of mares, but MAN is Sapphire an amazing horse... haha. Now if only she were a stud... naw jk jk. lol

  • Aren't these horses just incredible???!!!

  • the last horse picks up his legs perfectly!!!

  • Margie was great!!

  • YES!!!! she was like a deer when she jumps and its sooo cute!!!!... and it works

  • Pavarotti was gliding over the jumps like and eagle!!!

  • The first horse has a really nice canter. I bet he is fun to ride! Rider 2 was really pushing it. He was going way to fast. Black ice is beautiful!!! Well, they all are! Who let a dog in there? When it barked it could have spooked one of the horses.

  • rider 1 should have collected her horse and risked a couple more sec s on that turn

  • I would have done the same.

  • rider 1 could have broken her horses leg she needed to slow down a bit and take more control

  • I think you mean rider 2

she was going too fast and know wonder she knocked down them poles

  • Horse #4 is absolutly gorgeous! They all are though

  • whoever of u ppls no who andrea letherman is or dont know her she is on the list to be in the 2012 olypics she is my buddy

  • The first horse, Sun God, was so collective, but rider 2 was pushing their horse too much & rider 3 & 4 looked like they had to get in their horses mouth, but they all ride so well i wish i could ride like that hahaha

  • I just talked to Angel today! He's my buddy!

  • rider 2 rushed his horse wayyyyyyy too much

  • @megshorsel yeah your right

  • @megshorsel Most definatly.. But he's a gorgeous horse! :))

  • @megshorsel- Needless to say, rider 2's horse was hallowed out over most of the fences. ugly jumper, most likely due to the rider's rushing.

  • @megshorsel Yes, but it was a BEAUTIFUL horse! :D

  • Sun God was my favorite

  • I know that rider! Angel Karolyi is great great great

  • Black ice was nervous. He did not have any flexabiliity!

  • this is a really cool video. i like sun god

  • You can tell Black Ice was all tense about this, you don't see any flexibility. Instead of rounding over the jumps at an angle, he went straight and crashed right through them...Black Ice was my favorite out of all of them, horse and rider both tried their very best ;D I'm not one to talk much though, with any amount of training i don't think I will ever begin to match the skill level any of those riders have XD

  • i agree black ice was also my favorite it's a shame Jill sold him

  • *horse slips* ooooooooooooooooooo ohhh

  • This is absolutely heart stopping!

  • oh i know!you can so tell he was an equitation rider:)

  • the first rider(angel) shes good on her turns i like watching jumpers but im more of a hunter jumper person lol

  • angel is a very good rider."HE" is also cute:)

  • whoa....

  • i almost got a heart attack when that danielle lady almost wacked her knee off on jump #2 because she got real close to the standard on the right

  • okay whoever's commenting about these people getting jumped out of the tack, STOP!

seriously. do you even realize how huge these jumps are, and how round the horses jump?

i'd like to see you get out there and try it before you comment and point out their flaws.

i was there watching this show, and it was AMAZING.

you all have no room to talk.

  • 2008 Olympic Gold medal winning duo of Sapphire and McLain Ward.

I though Eric Lamaze and Hickstead won gold?

  • Correct. Ward and Sapphire got a team gold medal.

  • jill henselwood has never been a favorite rider of mine, but i LOVE her horse black ice

  • see sometimes horses can knock a bar over, can you believe that some preppy assholes who don't really love horses, just send them to slaughter for that?

  • I agree. Sometimes it is the riders fault. I think Brianne Goutal was going a bit to fast and didn't have her horse collected in the right place; therefore she knocked a couple of poles down.

  • the last horse picks his legs up so cute!!

  • this is soo cool!

but the first one had wayy to much air time

  • the second horse is gorgeous. you can tell he really loves jumping

  • I actually feel bad for black ice, he has to have a sore mouth all the time, do you see ho much henselwood "saws" on his mouth? 2:24 - 2:28

  • Wow. THAT is a difficult course.

  • wow the 1st horse did it with such ease...

  • I also saw Black Ice win last year

  • Black Ice won the grand prix last year at WIHS

  • WOW Henselwood should hang up her Breeches!! She has no buisness in this sport.. Why dont her trainers tell her that?? Oh thats right, they get a butt load of money to train her horribly!! Mclain seems BILLIANT!! So was the first round!

  • i was about to say how rude before i even watched...but wow i have to agree. i thought the money part was a little harsh but i honestly felt like i was watching a short stirrup rider moving up to their first real courses.....no joke.

i was a little scard haha

  • Maybe the horse won the grand prix.(hes Brill)

But she rides pretty bad.. she just lets her body flop around, and yanks on the reigns because the horse cant feel her seat at all..

  • yeah it's almost unsafe looking, it's just weird cuz i've seen her do pretty well on that ed horse in some big prixs. (although...again money could buy that) but idk hopefully this was just an off day for her or a brand new horse haha.

  • omg she got jumped out of her tack over like every jump!

  • vancouver d'avray is a beautiful looking horse..

  • Hey Henselwood may ride a mess, but her horse Black Ice is so PRETTY!

  • she's not normally that bad i've seen her ride she's brilliant

  • great video, thanks again!

  • Thank you whoever made this! You are awesome! There are several things I take from this video: 1.McLain Ward is just that good. 2.Margie and Todd's horses are really talented and young, and should be good for a while to come. 3.Jill Henselwood has no business competing at this level. Her horses are amazing for putting up with her terrible form and rough, handsy, stiff riding. I don't care what medals she has, I have yet to see her ride well. 4.Did I mention McLain Ward is awesome?

  • I know I love him!!! I can't get over his eq...usually jumpers don't sit that still and guys don't sit that tall in the saddle but he does!!! I have resently been depating on whos better..him or Bizzie Madden. PS sorry about my spelling lol

  • I know, I think I'd give an ever-so-slight edge to McLain over Beezie, mainly for aesthetic reasons. They're both really really good!

  • Thanks. I agree on all counts, but you really dissed Henselwood - yeah she had an off night, but this is an invitational show, and you gotta be doing something right to get invited.

  • I don't deny she's had good results, she has Pan American double gold, Olympic silver, President's Cup champ 2007. Her horses r great. I have yet to see her ride them well, though. Her form and two-point are so atrocious to watch I can't look sometimes. Compared to a McLain, a Margie, a Richard Spooner, a Rodrigo, Ludger, Marcus Ehning, she looks like a novice who happens to have some really good horses

  • @cgeman7

I say what form on Jill Henselwoods riding rofl

  • I agree 1000%

  • Awesome!
