What a lovely man. Very successful but he didn't get pulled into all the crap with drugs and sleaziness. Didn't lose sight of himself. Wish there were more like him. Guess he was just one of a kind.
the critics claimed he was a dilettante -never sticking to the one style of music. He had a "butterfly spirit" and is it possible this may have contibuted to his early demise? Who knows but he left a brilliant volume of music
His most revealing interview? Some commenters on later videos say "He was coked out," so it's a relief to confirm that he wasn't like that. (But sweetie, please stop smoking--it'll kill you!!)
Wonder why he referred to "the last ten years" of different styles? Meaning other than the blues/funk he began with?
It's "She Makes My Day," from the album "Heavy Nova," the one after "Riptide." I think it's the most gorgeous song he ever did. That and "Simply Irresistible" on the same record--how can you go wrong? : )
Oh my GOD!!! Someone please tell me that there are recordings of Robert covering Motorhead and Husker Du somewhere out there!!!! That was one of my dream arrangements!
I think he was conservative and modest in public, but behind closed doors, I imagine him to unleashing his inner tiger in the bedroom. I would've loved to be his girlfriend.
"Paid for cleaning my curtains" !!!
What a class act!!

I love when "my baby" does interviews. He is
so polite,he sneaks in that subtle sense of humor, and he is so modest about his career.
Hell, I just love listening to him talk. Thanks, indyterminate for the video.
