Everyone should request a pat down. Really pisses the TSA off! They have to get extra people in and it slows them down a LOT. Prop planes are slower...but you show up at the airfield and just throw your bag on the plane. No lines. No security. This cuts about an hour off on each end of the trip. Besides...I like the headphones. I enjoy hearing the pilot communicate with the towers.

I love Rand Paul, but he got this one wrong. He shouldn't be saying the TSA is doing it wrong, but implying they're legitimate. He should be saying the TSA is illegitimate! If people are concerned about safety, they can choose a airline that provides the level of security they are comfortable with. These security measures should be voluntary, not forced by the federal government.

Still a great guy buy most regards, but I think he looks more for republicanesque answers to these questions and will most likely be on the side of legislating morality than his father would ever be.

They've both even talked on air about the fact that they disagree on a lot of things. Ron's message is a very clear cut idea that spreads across all matters and is all encompassing. @alexfreypattaya Ron Paul's & Rand Paul's views aren't exactly lock and step with one another. For example: I believe Ron Paul favors shutting down Guantanamo where as Rand does not. I believe Ron feels "international terrorists" should be tried as Americans with the ful Constitutional rights of an American citizen where as Rand does not. Regardless of what happens in 2012 I believe Ron is setting the stage for Rand who I believe will be a more formidable candidate one day. They are both great.

Rand Paul has unfortunately been all too forgiving about this incident, especially considering that he could easily have cited Article 1 Section 6 of the Constitution and took the whole TSA to task for breaking the law by detaining a Congressman on his way to the Capitol. The TSA needs to be PUNISHED, not reformed for doing this to him. Yeah, I get that he doesn't want special treatment, and I admire that, but he undermines the Constitution by refusing to enforce the rules it set forth.
