  • I never liked Kennedy because of his failures in Berlin and the Bay of Pigs. His handling Cuban Missile Crisis was a sign of relief. But this speech has gained my respect for President Kennedy.

  • He had a path and it was clear. People like this are killed because of fear. Only the good die young.

  • The last great President the States have had he was. Sure there may have been a good thing here or there by a couple who have been in that office since J.F.K. was there but none in my mind that neared him.

  • if only someone like this man were alive today

  • God, I wish he lived! "Such a Blissfull,Lustfull World this would be" RIP Jack.

  • Well said president kennedy

  • he knew what came from war because he unlike most rich kids fought in a war.thats why peace through understanding is most important.you cant kill everybody

  • you should all listen to the whole speech if you havent yet,its truely the most important speech in the 20th century.no other President had ever proposed the USSR and the USA might be able to not ony coexist but become in some ways partners as global super powers, as he said in other speeches ,im not talking about a new balance of power, but a new world of law, where the strong are just, the weak secure and the peace preserved

  • A truely brilliant speech..Im a republican and i think Kennedy was one of the greatest leaders weve ever had.The last few words in the speech say it all.

  • @imissda80s - same here man well said...

  • It appears this speech was the kiss of death for JFK. The hounds of war, the military industrial complex had other plans in mind. Had JFK served out his 2 terms, with the US taking the path he laid, we would be much better shape than we are now.

  • @Pensiverunner Have you read JFK and the Unspeakable?

  • @Thadigitalkid Yes I've read the book. Have you? If so, do you remember this part. "When we live in a system, we absorb a system and think in a system. We lack the independence needed to judge the system around us."

I use think a certain way, until I was fortunate enough to be in a position to see the other side.

  • @Pensiverunner I don't, I haven't actually finished it. what your comment consisted of though sounds like it is out of the book. I think outside of the system, I have for some time. People are so deceived.

  • Thank You! This is one of my favorite speeches from Kennedy.

  • JFK made a deal with the Russians to stop the Bay of Pigs invasion. I was there, NSAM #263, Oct 11, 63, to stop the Vietnam war. JFK ended Vietnam.

JFK wanted to focus on going to the moon. I will break the CIA into a 1,000 pieces & scatter it to the wind.

Daniel Ellsberg was a CIA agent, who agreed to be prosecuted to provide cover for this CIA scam designed to confuse the public about how the

    Vietnam war started on 11-23-63.

  • I think it's so sad (at approx. 2:50) Kennedy said "As the World knows, the United States will never start a war". I think he would have been really disappointed with the US in the first decade of the new millennium.

  • @taniarene no, I believe JFK would have been pleased. We didn't provoke a war, it was provoked by Al- Qaeda at 8:46 A.M on September 11th 2001.

  • @taniarene Think about what you are saying....U.S. has never started a war unless they have been threatened by another nation. The U.S. has never invaded a country for purposes of power. The Germans in WWII invaded Poland for instance not because of self-defense but because it wanted to exterminate the Jews and take land. Please give me an example of when the U.S. has done something like that? Oh..by the way, remember Vietnam and the mess that became? Take a wild guess who declared war! JFK
